Fun keypad that doubles down as a cool desk calculator.
Initially purchased because I replaced my keyboard with one without a keypad and now absolutely love this one. Battery life has been incredible, only needed to charge it once since purchasing. It's got a great tactile feel to the keys and the fact it can be used as a standalone calculator by toggling the power and pressing a single key is great. The standalone calculator isn't going to blow you away for complex functions (your phone will do a better job than that for sure), but for the retro feel you really cannot go wrong. The fact is is USB-C for charging too is a real bonus.

A Promising Keyboard Weighed Down by Design Flaws
I really wanted to love this keyboard. It offers a solid typing experience with satisfying clicky switches and no complaints about the typing feel itself. The connectivity options are also excellent, with both 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth available, making it versatile for different setups. The design is sleek and visually appealing, but unfortunately, it comes with a significant drawback—it's heavy. For a wireless keyboard, it's surprisingly cumbersome to move around on a desk. If you suffer from conditions like arthritis, this weight may cause discomfort or make daily use impractical.Additionally, I purchased both the keyboard and its accompanying numpad. Coming from a full-size keyboard layout, I found the placement of the escape key and the small size of the plus and minus buttons on the numpad a bit frustrating, especially during heavy typing sessions.I really tried to like this keyboard, but ultimately it fell short of my expectations, and I had to return it.

5 stars if key mapping is released
I do love this keypad. The ability to push it out of the way when not in use and put it either left of right of the keyboard when needed is worth the expense alone. The calculator button, which turns the LCD into a conventional calculator, does away with the need for a separate calculator and can even replace Windows calculator. The reason for the lost 2 stars, as the title suggests, is the inability to customise the keypad. The keyboard is customisable with 8bitdo software but not the keypad. This is an issue for me because my muscle memory along with the placement of the backspace button means I hit backspace when I am trying to hit subtract. Easily fixed if I could only remap these two keys and swap them over physically (the latter is easy to do).

One upgrade every 30 years. Totally worth it.
Having worked at IBM (twice) I can say that it's not the best company. However, they did make the best keyboards. I've been on the same Model M for over 30 years. Although this isn't the same layout as the original it's good enough.Pros:- Authentic look- Gimmicky built in calc is a hit with friends and family. Buy this thing. Use it as your calc at school or work. Instant credibility!- Dedicated calc launcher button is an upgrade for me.- Proper colors (even down to the USB cable being the right color)- Adding backspace is great idea.- Losing numlock also totally makes sense.Neutral:- Minus (-) being moved will probably never be noticed in my use (but maybe).Cons:- Did I really need BT/2.4GHz? At least there is a cool dial. For sure worth it. Get one while you can. Great job 8bitdo!

Very Good for it's Price
The 8BitDo Mechanical Numpad is a really nice addition to my desk, especially if you already use a compact keyboard and occasionally need a dedicated number pad. The mechanical keys feel satisfying and responsive, and the overall build quality feels solid.I really like the compact design. It doesn't take up much space, but it still gives me a proper dedicated numpad when I need one. The wireless connectivity is also convenient, and the retro-inspired design gives it a lot of personality without looking too flashy.Pros:Satisfying mechanical switchesCompact and portable designGood build qualityWireless connectivityEasy to use alongside a 75% or TKL keyboardGreat-looking retro designUseful programmable buttonsCons:No screen or advanced display featuresCan be a little expensive compared with basic numpadsNot necessary if you rarely use a numpadTakes some time to get used to the compact layoutOverall, the 8BitDo Mechanical Numpad is a great choice if you want a dedicated numpad without sacrificing desk space. It feels well-made, looks unique, and is much more enjoyable to use than a basic membrane numpad. A little pricey for what it does, but the quality and design make it worth considering.
