The Fountainhead (Student Edition)

Good story

Life changing. Don’t believe the haters who have never read her books.

Read this a long time ago when I was in college. I'll find out if it's still a page-turner and relevant today.

I love this story.

I always enjoyed this book. My first copy got wet and I wanted to replace it. I like this book way more than Atlas Shrugged, even though Atlas Shrigged is hailed as her greatest work.

This was my third read of The Fountainhead. I first read it in my early 20s and I adored it. The idea that independent thinkers and creators are the prime members of society appealed to my young self just starting out on my first career and my whole life. Then I read it recently, in my mid 40s and I didn't like it as much. I found it to be hard headed, simplistic, bombastic and condescendingly repetitive. It looks like my third encounter is an averaging of my first two readings.This time around, at age 52, with child-rearing and several ended careers behind me, I found the book to still be preachy but the themes of relationships and independence and creativity shone through her prosthelytizing. Interestingly, only this time around did I notice the odd (offensive?) sexual relationship between beautiful Dominique (Dominatrix?) and oh so manly Howard Roark (How you do things?) which is definitely dated, but lent itself to the theme of independence v. submission.Do I recommend this? Yes with caveats. Keep an open mind and remember that Ms. Rand grew up in Russia and wrote this book in her early adulthood, and that she probably had a huge bone to pick with Communism so - context formed much of the topology of this book.

The book was shipped in great shape. I have started reading it and love its prose.

Amazing read for people that follow the band RUSH & their passed drummer Neil Peart

Print quality is poor. Very inconvenient to read the book - it strives to close all the time.

The book is fantastic, but this version is harder to read than I predicted as it is somewhat subsize pages.

This review is not about the content, but about the appearance of the book.The binding is nice, however, the margins on the pages are extremely narrow and the font pretty small, giving it a cheap feeling. I expected more for the price.
