Badger Anti-Bug Balm 2oz Tin

I first came across this when I was in Canada, so I was really pleased to be able to buy some more in the UK. It works very well repelling flies and other flying insects when out walking. It’s a large tin so I tend to take a small amount out to put in an old lip salve container. The smell is also not too bad, very pleasant indeed.

We bought this for a recent trip to Peru which included time in the Amazon rainforest after reading many glowing reviews on a variety of websites. We bought one tin, looked at it and thought we'd need a second for the 12 day trip. How wrong we were - we only really used half a tin - although we didn't need to apply it every day of the holiday as some locations didn't need repellent. We really wanted to avoid DEET as the smell is hideous.. It is a bit gloopy, and it's very easy to transfer on to your trousers if you rest your arms too soon on your legs when sitting. We did still get bitten, which I think is unavoidable, but not as much as we have done on previous holidays. It's definitely better than DEET and will become our new go to repellent.

I hate the pungent aroma of standard mosquito repellent almost as much as being bitten.... This badger balm is absolutely great... This little tin will last me a full year of regular slathering, (a little goes a long way!) and has a much more pleasant smell about it...easy to transport, you need never worry about it leaking or spilling either. I love the smell of this, and the mozzies clearly don't... They never come anywhere near me after I've applied this stuff! It's non sticky to apply, and this little tin just lasts forever, so it turns out to also be a much better value investment than you might first think. Also worth trying out some of Badger's other balms... Their sleep balm is lovely, and so are several others which I've tried over the last year or so. They're all non-sticky and have delicate, lovely fragrance. A great product which has become one of my 'must have' items for the summer!

Sadly we still got bit we were in Mexico lots of Forrest woods around us mosquito were fast and furious!!!! Biting like crazy !!! It's okay perhaps for somewhere else or ess extrem may work better ..

I live in the Scottish highlands and every year I get eaten by midges. This year is a different story. I am so happy I found this product. It isn’t too greasy and doesn’t look like I have anything on my face when applied. I also smell nice. However if you have this on for days on end you can feel a bit sick with the lemon like smell. The tin will last more than a year. I’ve used a handful of times and it still looks unused. Remember to spread the balm around your ears too as the midge is not fussy where she bites! Handy wee tin fits in pocket and natural ingredients are great for my ultra sensitive skin.

Tried this out in UK and while in living room . Smells like pudding . Not sure if you dab on a little or smother body . It’s a small tin. I dabbed. Got bitten but it did take the itch away. Smell lasts fir a couple of hours , so te Applucation a must . Will put more on next time . Pods was bitten as not enough on. Thought general aroma would deter them

Appears to work as haven't been bitten. Scent is not unpleasant, it does not seem to upset my skin which was a concern as generally highly perfumed stuff does

This was a god send in the hills of Spain and on the beach in Greece. Bought it prinarily for my baby but used it myself too (on holiday and at home) as I usually get lots of bites when using DEET (and react badly to them) and we didn't get bitten once. It has a lovely smell and I'll definitely be buying it again!

Badger Bug Repellent works! Easy to apply, a little goes a long way. Keeps most bugs at bay. Highly recommend.

Upon first opening the can the product is somewhat firm.strong but pleasant smelling. When you rub it into your fingers/hands it softens into an oily substance making it easy to apply. Spare no expense of effort in applying this to your skin, you really have to get it all over for total repellency. For the product to be most effective, I would reccomend you apply it to all exposed skin paying particular attention to the face (careful around the eyes, I close my eyes when u put it on my face), neck, ankles, and ears. This product absolutely repels bugs and I've noticed it even keeps Gnats from flying into your face or up your nose. At my camp we have gnats so bad, they swarm and land on your face, after putting this on they seem to hit an "invisible wall" and no longer are a pest. The only reason I give this product 4 stars is I am picky when it comes to textures and this is slightly greasy when you first put it on. Also it needs to be reapplied every hour or so but nothing's perfect. Overall I love this product. I've had people make fun of it at outings or campfires and by the end of the night they are begging me to lend them some and they all end up saying it works. Overall a great and safe alternative over the questionably "safe" mainstream bug repellents.
