A great game. The 2K series continues to impress and be leaps and bounds ahead of EA sports in terms of gameplay, graphics, and everything in between. The gamplay is smooth, and while I'm not big on the MyPlayer modes and all that, I am an old school gamer who prefers a very in-depth and rich Franchise mode. The Franchise mode does not disappoint, with both full season and franchise modes that you can completely customize. The graphics are insane. My fiance' will routinely walk by and think she is watching a real basketball game. The leap in graphics between the first version on next gen systems and this second iteration is amazing, it leaves me excited for the possibilities moving forward. There are some little buggy things here and there. For example, when a player goes into a "runner" or "floater" shot animation, they hit the shot about 98% of the time. Also, even though a wise man once said basketball is a game of runs, it can sometimes be impossible for your team to hit a shot, or the other team to miss a shot, when they go on a run. Utilizing timeouts properly can sometimes help to end a run, but it can get frustrating at times. These are little things, but they do not take away from the experience enough to warrant a lower rating.

It's not like you're going to spend money on NBA live
My 5-star review is based off two things. 1) It only cost me $10 thanks to the 2k promotion with john wall and james harden. 2) I didn't buy it at launch so I didn't experience any of the network issues that seemed to plague everyone and lead to initially poor reviews. Pros: Good graphics, high production values, and fun. Cons: Cheesy "story" for MyPlayer mode, voice acting is beyond awful. Just go youtube nba2k15 all cutscenes. Your guy will sound like that regardless what you do, it's comical. Controls are wonky at times, players feel like they're on skates, way too many locked animations. Classic 2k camera seems broken and makes it hard/impossible to consistently run a fast break. And lastly, micro-transactions. Want to destroy all goodwill created with the community that plays your game? Add microtransctions. There's a reason EVERY mobile game is awful. You don't need to spend a dime to get started though, and my copy game with a code for 10k of the ingame currency for free. It's hard to really trust that companies don't lower the regular rewards of progression though to entice people to buy virtual currency. And I don't really care what their official response to that is.

2K Sports DOES IT AGAIN! NBA 2K15 is my favorite of ALL TIME (until next year of course)
This is the best basketball video game on the planet right now. It's got everything you want - NBA Franchise Mode, NBA Season, Online Tournaments, Blacktops. Ever since I got this game (on Amazon for such a great deal), I've been spending most of my weeknights getting lost in this virtual reality of the NBA. It's got me HOOKED. The gameplay is very high functional, the graphics are impressive, and the user interface has improved drastically since 2K14. One qualm I have about this game is that it doesn't offer custom draft order in fantasy drafts of Franchise Mode. I really find it inefficient to keep starting a franchise over, having it autosave, then having me (as the user) delete the save so that I can start it again hoping to get a top 5 pick. Hopefully this is a feature they'll add back to the product in 2K16. There's alot of update bugs I've been experiencing, having me to always go back to Main Menu even though I already have gone there a few times.

New Features, Still Great
This year's edition has some new features and changes jump shooting a little. I'd gotten used to the old way of shooting, but this is better. Gone are the old days of figuring out each players' release. Now there's a little bar beneath the player's feet that you kind of have to time. I'm not sure if it's better or not, but it definitely takes some getting used to. Last year, you couldn't even play if the servers were down because everything tied into their "coin" system, which needed an online connection. This year, that isn't the case. It's a good thing too because the servers were down for about 4-5 days and I still can't access "MyTeam". I'm sure they'll correct this, but the game did seem rushed. Since that was down, I tried MyGM and MyPlayer. Both have been fun. MyGM has you running a team and interacting with the owner, players and the media from time to time. One warning, don't always give into players requests. Breaking a promise is worse than just telling him no from the beginning. MyPlayer is simplified this year. You don't really build each skill level separately. Instead, you build a category of skills together. You automatically get badges too based on your actions. I think I like it better. I liked the rivalry angle last year, but that's gone.now. Instead, you get to play the "nobody believes in me" scenario, working your way into the NBA as an undrafted free agent. Graphics are incredible, but I hear that you can get some weird faces if you scan your face. I don't have a PS4 camera, so I can't do that. The courts look great and faces look more realistic except some guys must have paid off the designers, such as Pao Gasol. He looks way better in the game than real life. I guess you can't capture a wispy beard in a video game very easily. Bottom line is that I think all of the new features make it worthwhile to upgrade and buy into this year's edition.
