As others might say, yes, a bit on the pricey side. But what you get is a thoughtful fun cook book your kiddo can play with at their play kitchen for years to come, and one you can actually eventually cook alongside with them! The Taco book in the series is one of the more damage proof books, but with all interactive books, you may want to preemptively reinforce a the avocado flap and the handle of the cardboard knife so they aren't damaged as easily with clear Gorilla packing tape. Most librarians do the same. The construction is very solid, but... let's be honest, so are toddlers! Ours, despite some wear and tear, reads and plays with this almost every day after school.

My daughter isn't exactly a fan of tacos in real life, but she has so much fun "chopping" the vegetables in this book and pretend eating the taco at the end. Some of the interactive elements are quite subtle, so I've noticed that my toddler sometimes breezes past these quieter details (like heating the skillet) in her eagerness to get to the "good stuff". Overall, this is another successful purchase in the Cook in a Book series that we love.

Cute Lille book as I expected

This book is great for bedtime, but also car rides and trips as it is very interactive! We have yet to use it as a recipe to follow in the kitchen but that’s what it’s for! We love these types of books!

Love that it is a real recipe and my 2 year old loves the book just for reading at bedtime too. I wish they didn't include a knife and some of the pieces don't go back in to their slot so they fall out - like the taco on the last page keeps falling out and the corn on the cob page doesn't stay up. Minor issues - overall would definitely recommend.

I’ve bought this book twice now for friends’ kids. Parents report that kiddos love using it and it helps them feel included in the kitchen when parents are busy making dinner. It’s super interactive and brightly colored, plus educational. Sturdy enough to be given to a toddler!
