Columbia Women’s Arcadia II Jacket

For the record: I don't love this jacket, my wife does. I love my wife and she looks great in this jacket. We were a little confused by the mixed reviews on sizing. Many reviewers were posting remarks about the importance of ordering a size up to allow room for a sweater or something similar. Yet there were other reviewers saying the exact opposite. My wife is normally in-between small and medium when buying shirts and jackets (yes it's extremely frustrating buying clothes for her) so we figured we should go with a medium since most reviewers were saying to go a size up. We ended up going to a store that carried these locally to try on the fit. Buying locally at the store would have been WAY more expensive! But it was useful to get the sizing just right. My wife said the medium felt like she was wearing a bag and she'd be swimming in it. Don't know exactly what that means except that it was too large for her taste and not form fitting. She tried the small and it fit just right. Our recommendation is to get ahold of a jacket locally even if it's not the exact model or color you're considering but a Columbia brand rainproof jacket and try a few on to ensure you get the right fit for you to avoid the hassle of returning the product for a different size. I realize that this isn't possible for everyone but amidst the confusion and various opinions on the matter it's what we recommend. If that isn't possible then decide what size based on your body shape and what you hope to use this jacket for. If you'll need it as an outer layer with multiple other layers underneath for warmth then go a size up. If you're going to use it just to stay dry with a small sweatshirt or t shirt with a fleece jacket underneath then ordering your normal size will be just fine and offer mobility. As for it's use, the jacket did it's job holding up to downpour rainstorms in Hilo Hawaii yet remaining comfortable and relatively breathable while having a very attractive appearance. We took it on several hikes and it kept her dry through several bouts of rain. She highly enjoyed and recommends this jacket as a lightweight and very rainproof jacket that has some style and isn't "a bag to go swimming in."

I'm in love with this jacket. I work at a state college and we were expecting rain for our Commencement Day, so I bought this for the occasion and am so happy I did. Not only did it keep me dry but it kept me warm despite how light it is. It's also a perfect fit and form flattering which is a huge bonus. The material is thin but sturdy and easy to move around in as well as spot clean. Zipper hasn't given me any issues. I've worn it several times and layered it with a thin hoodie underneath and it was still easy to move around in and looked great. Extremely happy with this jacket.

My mom wanted a waterproof jacket and I ordered this one. She loved it. The material is not stretchy but it is true to size. She is 160lb and I got L. The zipper is easy to use we didn’t have any problem. The color and the appearance of the jacket is the same as the visual.It looks so stylish.It is soft and lightweight but the most important thing it is waterproof.

I've looked everywhere for a lightweight rain jacket for my Alaska cruise. This is perfect. I am 5'2 195lbs and bought the 1X petite so I could put a fleece underneath it. Plenty of room to do that without looking like a sausage. I would have preferred elastic cuffs to velcro but it's fine. Color is great. Zipper is quality. Super jacket.

I absolutely love this jacket! I got a size XL -black. So comfortable! Keeps you warm (nice comfy lining), but not meant for deep cold. I wore this in 40 -50 degree weather (with gloves) and I was so comfortable! It’s also waterproof. The zippers are of great quality! No snags! Perfect pocket locations and they are secure (useable)! The black was a pure black color (not faded). When temps dropped down to 20 degrees I did have to swap out for my heavy Columbia! I’m 5’3” , 150lbs, 36D and this fit perfect! I could wear layers underneath (tshirt and sweatshirt/sweater). I would highly recommend!

Comfortable, lightweight jacket, not too tight or stiff. I always size up because I don't like my jackets tight. This was perfect.

Great color and weight. I love all of the pockets, Velcro closures and ability to tighten. Already did a walk in a rain storm and the jacket kept me completely dry. I’m 5’2” and 100 lbs - a small fits fine

Love this coat. I've had it for a year now and it is holding up to wear beautifully! It was a perfect fit. I bought a plus size and am thrilled to say that the sleaves are even a decent length. (I usually have to roll up the sleaves - but this one was a perfect length.) And it is indeed water proof.

Looked long and hard for a lightweight, waterproof jacket and this is perfect. Nice and long, I'm 5'8" and it sits at my upper thighs, arms are long enough too. Fits true to size, large enough to wear over light sweater if needed. Has a light mesh lining so the fabric does not stick to you like other jackets I tried.
