Great smell and does exactly what it says

It works really well on new stains. As you pour it on to a fresh stain it goes white and foams around the stain, you can see it lifting off and it's fantastic. I haven't found this works on old stains that have been washed in but I'm not sure if any stain remover does. It is perfectly colour safe and I've used it on white, black and colour fabric with success.

INTRODUCTION: Because of various problems with the washing machine regarding the accumulation of bacteria during the procedure and a musty small most of the time, since there are no balconies in my flat and I’m forced to dry my garments inside. I was advised of this product, for it helps to resolve the problems cited above and especially to remove the most common stains. PROS: The first detail which induced me to buy the product in question on Amazon instead of a supermarket can be recognised in the quality-price ratio. Its smell is not too strong: it’s, contrastingly, very delicate and restricts itself to take its effect against bacteria. With regard to the problem of stinky garments, I noticed a slight improvement in comparison with the previous situation. CONS: To be honest, I have serious doubts about the effectiveness of this product: my clothes persist in stinking and, in terms of bacteria, I’m not a chemical nor a scientist, so I’m not able to analyse the product with regard to its scientific properties ensuring its effectiveness. Last, but not least, it removes stains easy to clean with different (and cheaper) products. In other words, I was forced to remove tough stains by employing a different product. OUTLINE: Substantially, I continue to use this stain remover, but I have several doubts about its effectiveness. I remark that nevertheless, I cannot prove it, but it should help to remove most bacteria from my clothes, therefore I rate it with not less than three.

I have used Ace Gentle Bleach in the past and suspect this is the same product with a slightly different name – a label on the back of the bottle still states ‘Ace Gentle Bleach’. It is safe for use on coloureds as well as whites. As a generic stain remover, you are guided to dose 100ml for a 4/5Kg load or 150ml for 7Kg. It can also be used to pre-treat stains by direct application onto the fabric although it shouldn’t be allowed to dry. One bottle will therefore provide sufficient treatments for ten washes of up to 5Kg. It is much thinner than the other liquid stain remover that I currently use (Vanish), it is just like water, albeit with a pleasant fragrance and more is needed in each wash if it is to act as a generic stain remover by comparison. Directions state that Ace should be added directly on top of clothes in the drum rather than mixed with other detergent in the drawer or dosing ball, which is slightly inconvenient as no dosing ball is included and I do not like adding anything undiluted to laundry, however gentle it says it is. Efficiency of one stain removal agent vs another is subjective and will depend on too many variables to enable a lay-person to assess results properly in non-laboratory conditions. However, using the same detergents as I normally would and substituting Ace for Vanish, my laundry comes out stain-free and as clean as I normally expect. Without therefore doing the advert test of cutting an item with the same stain in half and washing both, I would assess stain removal properties to be the same. I stopped using Ace Gentle Bleach several years ago and moved onto Vanish as I found the latter a more efficient, generic stain remover that pretty much eliminated the need to check clothing pre-wash for stains. Although Ace works well on stains I cannot see that it is any better than Vanish. I do however think Vanish is more efficient overall as less is needed per wash and, as it is thicker, there is less tendency to overdose. I also prefer the convenience of a single dosing ball for both detergent and stain remover so will stick with Vanish for the foreseeable future.
