Absolutely perfect
I live in an apartment that does not have AC and the late Spring/early Summer months in Oregon are pretty unbearable temperature wise. So, after purchasing a 5000 BTU window unit that would fit into a vertical sliding window I was told by the apartment complex that they do not allow drilling into the sill or the walls... Well, well, well what was a girl to do? Get creative! I purchased this item (Omg I can't believe how cheap it is and it's so durable! The other support brackets were at least double the price and didn't have the back support...) and a c-clamp. The support bracket is so utterly easy to put together (it took one screw to connect the two pieces). My window has a sill that is about 5 inches and I was able to have the support bracket mounted on the sill and the back looks just like the picture on the product. I then used the c-clamp (3 inches - holds 400 lbs) to secure the bracket to the inside window sill. BAM - DONE! Now, all I need to do is purchase a piece of plexiglass to put above the AC unit. I freaking highly recommend this to anyone that isn't able to drill into the wall/sill or is able to drill into the wall/sill because the product is very well made and so utterly easy to assemble/install.

Good but still need to improve
I bought two of this bracket, and managed to install them on my window. They works well. The angle of the bracket is weld as fixed, so it is not very flexible when fit on the sill. If the length or the angle of the oblique beam is adjustable, it will makes installation much easier. I know this is not always necessary, but when it is really hard to drill on the outer wall, this will give you an option to put the feet on the outermost part of the sill.

Works for my Mobile Home
Perfect for mobile homes and any double slider windows. I used this with the base upside down (clamp to window/wall) and set it up in minutes. It supports my AC with no worries about it falling with no drilling! It's much cheaper than the other brand.

Save your reciept or don't chance it if your sill design is more than just simple/plain
The only reason I purchased this is because my condo association said this was "recommended" otherwise get fined. I figured this recommendation means it would fit a lot better than it really did. I actually think my 5,000 BTU AC mounted much cleaner without it. It has it's good but it certainly wasn't for my condo's architecture. Pros: - seems solid, very strong and thick metal - the base bracket has multiple mounting holes so you can slide the support bar to what you AC size is - comes with 2 self tapping 4" (give or take) screws to screw into the sill and 2 machine threaded bolts to lock the sliding support into place - the support bar has a hinged plate and a rubber insert so it can adjust to any angle on the wall when the weight is on it. the mounting plate has 2 pre-drill holes in case you also would like to drill into the outside of you wall Cons: - if you have on the outside: brick face or old school bricks on the sill then down the wall, this may not fit well at all. The base bracket may have to extend so far out that you can't drill into the innner sill to lock it down from the inside - support bracket angle is set so given the issue above, this will also become a problem when trying to position it. - because of the fixed support angle, depending on the depth of your sill/window - it may not leave enough grade/slope for the condensation to drain out towards the back of you AC unit, leaving stagnant water inside to rust, scum or even drip back inside - the support bracket holes that are supposed to lock onto the base bracket, the two holes most of my settings, both holes did not line up leaving a choice of only 1 screw to lock in the position before the AC unit got set on top. I think this bracket is a generic concept which doesn't account for the subtle differences in home builds, especially in fancier or more robust old school housing. While the bracket material is solid enough, it lacks in versatility. My advice if you really want to consider this is to save your receipt. It may work for you or as in my case it did not. I'd hate for you to go through all that only to find you'll be getting another more suitable system...while you may get the refund, it was a pain in the A ripping up the setup before only to find this is not so universal, and then looking forward to redoing everything again. -

Platin window air conditioner bracket
This bracket did not work at all for vinyl windows the straight piece that slides into the other half of the bracket was not near long enough.

Well, it does work.
This item is pretty basic. It offers no fill support for smaller window ACs. It primarily is designed for older wood sash windows. The instructions are pretty basic, but don't offer any finer detail for installation other than small cartoons, the rest is common sense. Installed, the support extends about six inches from the back of my 5000 BTU unit. It looks funky, but it does do its job of support.
