The Gemmies Crystal Candy Sample Box, 10 Pieces

I certainly wish I had read the reviews before ordering for my grandson to have a surprise on the last day of school. The item which I cannot call candy is disgusting and words cannot describe how awful it is. Appearance was great but when he put it in his mouth he became sick and vomited. The texture was grainy. When I smelt it, it had a kerosine smell. This is the worst item I have ever gotten from Amazon. Please please disregard the YouTube video about how good it is.

Love these. A bit too expensive.

doesn’t taste that well, very jelly and super sweet. not a big fan.

I was super excited to try these and super patient thinking they would take a long time to get here. Looking back, if they’d have gotten lost in shipment that would’ve been fine. They look really cute and they smell good, but they taste and feel gross. I wanted these more for the texture and even that was pretty bad. I loved the outside shell but the “jelly” is the texture of a crushed up orbeez bead. Would not reccomend honestly worth 0 of the hype. Overpriced and for what?

These candies are absolutely delicious! The texture is so good and crunchy! The flavors are incredible and they come in such a wide variety of different flavors. It’s more on the tropical tasting side so it gets five stars. So unbelievably good.

I think this was a fun purchase to see what these actually tasted like. I would rate it a solid 3.5. Texture: I knew ahead of time that I wouldn't mind it. It has a crispy outside and a cross between jelly/gummy inside. I had heard people say they experienced grittiness but I did not. I really enjoyed the texture. Taste: This is where the score goes down a bit. I knew they were lightly flavored and I enjoy that but some of the flavors seemed off to me. I only liked about three out of the 8 pieces. I got a free sample of the sour powder and that helped enhance a few flavors. The pineapple one I received had no flavor at all. I really liked the Green Apple Pear and Passionfruit. Presentation: They are really pretty to look at and come packaged nicely. None of mine were damaged but shipping was terribly slow.

Bought for the novelty, I didn't expect much. I read the negative reviews but still wanted to try for myself. The candy has a thin crunchy sugar outer layer (think of the sugar crust on a creme brulee), with a firm gelatin center. The flavors are mild, sometimes hard to distinguish, but they're individually packaged and labeled. Some had extra sugar crystal clusters to decorate, but I pulled them off and threw them at my neighbor's kids, too much sugar. Here's a breakdown of the flavors: Pear- mild flavor but obviously pear, pretty good. Green apple- sweet soapy aftertaste, not great. Peach- could not distinguish flavor. Grapefruit- also has that soapy after taste, but worse. Raspberry and Cherry- delicious! Best flavors. Lemon- Also really good, sweet lemon flavor. Green Apple/Pear- no flavor, just pure sugar. It was a fun taste test, too expensive to buy again.

The box it came in was a 6 square box, and it was missing some of the candies like the butterfly shape. So, it was not like what the picture and description says. And although the idea of candy gems is cute, they do not taste good at all!
