Very easy to use external CD/DVD drive
Though I only used it for playback so far, and I don't use it often, this external CD/DVD drive works perfectly and is a great value for the price. Sadly, CD/DVD drives are rare in new laptop computers, but this helps overcome that problem. The item arrived in perfect condition.

It Burns!
So far so good. "Refurb" arrived looking like new. It was highly rated by CNET and I was glad to find one. These portable units tend to be really flimsy but this one seems like it will last awhile. I use it for burning Redbook CDs with track names and it supports all I have needed. Removable cable is convenient for packing small and reducing strain on the connection.

LG DVD Writer
I did not realize this item was a refurbished item. I called Amazon and they could not establish that either. So far it's working OK. I just hope it last...slightly disappointed about the writer being refurbished with no warranty.

Doesn't Work
Bought this 2 years ago with the intention of going analog. Life got in the way, so never opened it until now. Just took it out of the box, and it doesn't work. The drive makes an awful noise when you hit eject, and the door only opens using the emergency port with a paperclip. It won't read or write dvds or cds. Completely useless.

This is also a quality and easy DVD Player!! They should really rename LG DVD Writer AND Player!!!
I have had trouble finding a quality DVD player and liked the LG Brand of gadgets. LG labels it a DVD Writer but is also a very quick and easy DVD Player!

This worked with my newer laptop to play DVDs / CDs. Did not work with an older SMART TV.

Simple and ideal
This portable DVD drive is built to be very simple without a lot of glitz. It works perfectly and is likely to last a long time. I'm so very happy.

Excellent drive
I've been using this drive to copy old backup CDs that I burned upto 20 years ago. It worked out of the box and the only issues I've had are due to old/scratched discs. I comes with one of those annoying Y cables that some external drives need to get the required power, but on my desktop PC I haven't had to use it. I just used an old USB A to micro USB cable and it has worked fine. Well worth the money and I am very happy with the purchase.
