We always take these packets when we travel! Very convenient vs taking a container of Metamucil with us or not even taking any! We get small water bottles, drink a sip of the water, and pour the powder in. If you are traveling, you should consider getting these. It’s a little unfortunate that they don’t currently have the non-sugar free version available now.

I tried 3-4 different products and this was the best, hands down. The powder mixes well with cold water. Once you mix the powder with cold water, it becomes a nice, refreshing beverage. If you drink it within 5-7 minutes after mixing, there is no texture to the drink at all -- it's basically orange-flavored, nice tasting drink (like Fanta but without the bubbles). If you wait longer, the mixture does become viscous and gains a texture, which is still pleasant. I recommend this version of Metamucil that has real sugar in it over the "premium" artificially-sweetened version. The real sugar version tastes very good -- so good that you'd want to drink it anyways (just make sure the water is chilled). The artificially sweetened version tastes very artificially and extremely sweet and feels like medicine.

Who wants to review fiber supplement? These packets are perfect for travel or day trips. You pay for the packaging keep that in mind. Convenience is expensive.

I noticed recently that I was not be getting enough natural fiber and that is when I began to search online for some good fiber enhanced products. Easy to use and mixes better than the sugar free.

Did you know that if you have problems digesting fat (gall bladder issues), taking Metamucil will help to absorb the fat? These travel pouches are great to use at restaurants after a meal if you won’t be going home right away. They also make pills so that is even more convenient. Buy the real sugar Metamucil per the doctor.

IBS. What can I say? Metamucil, along with off label use of Prevpac (like a decade ago) changed my life. I used to be afraid to go anywhere without a toilet close by. At any time I could have an attack of diarrhea or vomiting. It was awful. I mean, really awful and embarrassing. Now I travel the world with very little problems. But, when I stop taking this stuff I start to have problems again. Not nearly as bad as it used to be, but still not normal either. I used to take Citrucel, but I find Metamucil works better. The downside to Metamucil is that it will bloat you up until you get used to it whereas Citrucel doesn't do this. It takes about 2 or 3 weeks to get used to Metamucil. It never causes me bloat anymore. I only take it in the morning. Edit: I wanted to add that if you use this for IBS then I recommend avoiding the sugar free variety as it acts as a laxative, which is pretty much what you don't want if you have IBS.
