Power-Latch 1 Way Gate Latch

If your gate only swings in one direction, this is a good latch for it. It can be relatively easily operated with one hand, and latches automatically when you close the gate. Note that a) you may need to push on the gate to open the latch, especially if you have some too-eager goats leaning on it from the other side. b) you may need to look at and modify your installation depending upon the thickness of your gate and where the post of the latch from the gate is positioned relative to where you mount the latch-plate. In my case, I had to build up behind the latch-plate since the gate otherwise hit the gate post and the latch wouldn't mate.All in all, an excellent, solid product, and it has made use of one of our pastures much more enjoyable.

kid proof, simple, strong. It is designed (as claimed) for 2" standard pipe. My dog fence is 1.3" so I added steel shim to fit.added note 27 july 20252 kids, 8 and 10, managed to slam the gate hard enough to rotate the latch out of alnment...twice.this time, after re-aligned, I drilled 4 holes (2 eaach side) tapped them for M8 set screws then a drip of red Locktight on the screw threads before final tightening. So far it has stayed in alignment...we will see how long.

Great product, and easy to assemble, it comes with 2 additional brass pieces that wrap partly around the pole part of the gate and fits under the latch on the gate in case like me, your gate is slightly smaller in diameter than the gate you are putting it on which is very handy, good ideas guys and gals that created this latch

Works great, the best one way latch out there. I used it on a 5ft tube gate with a wood 4x4 post fence for horses. I use their 2 way latch on the bigger tube gates and like those too.

Would've given 5 stars but I have some minor thoughts on improving this. Plus, one latch (I ordered two) has a terrible weld that's all bubbled and looks awful lol. The gold "spacer" half loops they provide for smaller diameter gates are absolutely terrible. They're not in the same shape as the black lock itself and I used a hammer to bash it into shape and it still was a pain to fit around the gate tube. Ridiculous amount of effort to get those to work. The tolerance from the "knob" and the slot it goes into (where the gold piece is) is way too tight of a fit. That weird looking loop piece below it should be smaller and allow more wiggle room since everyone is working with a wood post which isn't always straight, things shift or settle, warp, etc so having a little more space would be nice. Probably the biggest issue I've had is that the "loop" for the lock is directly in line with the hole for a screw or bolt and the headlok black structural screw I used makes the "lock loop" rest on it which backs the entire system ever so slightly back towards me. The gold latch will hit the knob and you basically can't open the gate now. You have to push/press the hole gate forward so the gold latch clears the knob. These are simple fixes really. Again, that knob on the first gate I installed (which was perfect when I put it together but now I went and checked it) is now scrapping the bracket and won't "sit back" in the cradle all the way so the gold swinging latch is hitting it. Bummer. Last thing, the lock loop is not the best secured loop. It could be beefer and bigger/thicker. Obviously whatever lock you use is the weak point but all they need to do is lower or raise that loop to make room for the screw head too.

This was a good purchase for my needs. I had to make a brace so the latch would mount properly. My post is wood and round and that is why I made the bracket., so this would work fine on a 4x4 post or larger

I ordered a different brand that looked just like this one but it didn't close properly. Bought the Powerfield brand, installed it, and it works like a charm!

Seems to be exactly what i expected, lost one star because there is no mounting bolts. Using it for chain link gate panel that I would like to snap to my garage… I did notice the price went up by $20 after I ordered it though glad I got it before that happened
