Igloo Classic Playmate Coolers

igloo never fails to impress, even in this small little cooler. I like to have nice cold water when I am sitting in for a long gaming session to stay hydrated, and what I like to do, is freeze a couple bottles of it, and use this as "ice packing" and place a couple unfrozen bottles on top to keep them nice and cold. By the time I finish the unfrozen bottles the ones underneath are just starting to melt, so I get super ice cold water once I start tapping into those. I like that it is so small, as it doesn't take up a lot of space in my room, and it has a nice sleek design making it look attractive. the handle is nice and sturdy and te built in locking mechanism allows for secure transportation. The way I use it, I don't really have to worry about it leaking, though, I suspect if you had regular ice in there, it MAY leak a bit if tipped over. Overall though, the functionality of this little cooler is top notch, and seems to be able to fit in most hiking backpacks if needed.

I used this cooler to transport 2 pints of ice cream across the country, and it managed to keep them all frozen for the 6 hours I was in the airport & flying. The sides are thick, but there’s still plenty of room inside to store drinks, food and ice. I like that the lid locks into place so that you don’t have to worry about it tipping over and spilling. But be warned, there’s no seal to stop melted ice or other liquids from pouring out of it ends up on its side. Overall a quality portable cooler!

So cute and perfectly fits 6 cans. Had no ice and it still kept refrigerated drinks cool on a hot day. Nice and compact so easy to haul around and super durable.

It's lightweight. It's the perfect size to put on the back seat of my car. I use it to put perishable in when I go to the grocery,especially in the summer.

Great! Works great as a kid size lunchbox or a light eating adult. What I like best is it is cleanable, unlike her last one. It’s nice looking, durable, the right size, so what is not to like? Seems to keep her ice cold all day also. Best yet, she loves the color!

I used the softside version of the Playmate cooler for years, and it worked mostly okay, but I never cared for the hinged top being held onto the body of the cooler with only a zipper, which made it rather fragile, plus the vinyl soft side eventually ripped, promptint me to replace it. I foolishly bought a no-name cooler fabric cooler with a hard plastic liner and hinged top wtih velcro closure and carrying strap from Wal-Mart after that, but I messed up by getting one that was about twice as big as I could handle, and the strap got in the way. This Wal-Mart cooler was just ungainly enough to make me flat hate getting it in and out of my car going to and leaving work, so I went on the lookout for a proper replacement. After a while, I realized that a medium sized Playmate Igloo would probably give me the best of both worlds, so I ordered this one. I've been using it for over a month now, and it's so handy, durable, just the right size, and keeps things cold, that I can't believe that I went so many years with a substandard lunchbox when I could have had this all along. Mine is one of the more common variants these days with the latch mechanism built into the end at the top of the carrying handle, an interesting change from the larger Playmate coolers that I grew up with that have the side button latch mechanism. Having decades of experience with the side button version and this one with the top latch, I think that most people would probably prefer the top latch because it allows one-handed opening. The only situation that I can think of that might favor the side button version (there are several still with the side button of this size Playmate available, namely the diamond plate one dubbed the "Boss") would be for those people who might be in a situation where accidentally opening the cooler would be more likely. It's possible that the side button would be a better type in a small space with other containers being moved in and out of it, say a car trunk, but I find that the top latch makes me like this just a bit better for my purposes. I use it on a daily basis for my lunch at work, and I have zero complaints so far. It's also worth mentioning that after all these years, these coolers are still made in USA, a big deal to those of us who buy domestic products whenever possible. I went to Igloo's website, and it turns out that the original Playmate cooler was originally invented clear back in 1971. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel!

OK, I got this to use as a small lunchbox for work because it’s handy as plastic. It’s not one of those. What do you call it the type that’s canvas and material because those are kinda weak in that and this one here is steering and easy to handle it cleans up nicely and it looks good and it’s a smaller one not the great big huge gigantic one that holds like three years supply of food. This one holds a day day and a half of food and it works well and it does look good cause I do like blue and blue likes me so together we’re happy.

Ich liebe diese Kühlbox. Als Probennehmer für Lebensmittelproben hatte ich diese Box täglich im Einsatz. Die Box ist leicht, handlich, stabil, leicht zu öffnen und das wichtigste, sie hällt den Inhalt kalt (oder Warm, je nach dem wie man das Teil benutzt). Der Kunststoff kam auch mit Trockeneis prima zurrecht, und das Innenmaß ist gut für die meisten Akkus ausgelegt. Wenn man das Teil gut mit Akkus auspolstert ist genügend Platz für 1,5 bis 2kg Fleisch (im Beutel verpackt) vermutlich passt auch Auch ein 6-Pack Bier (0,3l) oder (Softdrinks 0,5l Einweg) hinein. Perfekt 5-Sterne.
