Marauder's Map Guide to Hogwarts (Harry Potter)

This book is awesome. My son and I (and the rest of the fam) love Harry Potter. For his 7th birthday, I chose this as one of his gifts. It is probably the closest thing you can make to the movie's Marauder Map. It has several pages with fun facts and quotes and stories, with little hidden activities to use the special wand with. The maps within the book are spot on to the movies as well. You will find footsteps walking within the coridors of Hogwarts, to reveal what characters are up walking around. You can check out how to make potions, see what is out and about on the grounds of Hogwarts, and collect clues throughout the map. Very entertaining and fun for a great price!

Purchased for my 9-year-old Potter-head granddaughter. She was delighted and showed everyone who would look all about the book. We tried the black light pen in daylight and the existing writing was pale. I hope it was better in a darker environment. She was particularly delighted she could write her messages throughout the book in invisible ink. The only disappointment I had in the book was that the map was in parts or pages...not a complete Hogwarts map. Still for a Harry Potter fan, this is a nice addition to the collection.

This is a great book with tons of fun info and the hidden writing makes it quite unique. As others have noted, it just has sections of the map and there isn't a whole map here. It does give info about all the books/movies so if your child hasn't gotten to later books, there are spoilers here. It's not really a problem and I'm not critiquing the item for that fact, but I was a little bummed to see references to Dumbledore's death. It makes total sense that this book speaks to any relevant events while it's describing parts of Hogwarts. It just hadn't occurred to me that he'd learn about later plot turns from reading this so you should just keep that in mind if considering it.

This thing is bada** if you a fan get it. My bf got it and was stoked! It has a black light on the wand that reveals secrete messages and steps to follow pretty neat and magical 🧙‍♂️ lol

Having already purchased the Marauder's Map several months ago here on Amazon, when I saw this guide book, I had to have it, of course! The book sells for $13.50. When I saw a used edition selling for $6.79 with free shipping, (I am a bargain hunter and often purchase used items here on Amazon), I selected to go with the used edition! I am 72 years old Ravenclaw and purchased this book for myself to add to my Potter library collection. The book arrived today and the book itself is in perfect condition. Perusing through it, I can see that I am going to have fun reading it with my copy of the Marauders Map open in front of me! What is missing in this 'used edition' is the ultraviolet wand with an invisible ink pen in it. Apparently the previous owner decided to keep the wand/pen when returning the book. I actually don't care about the wand; I have a few wands already. One is a lighted one of course. I made this purchase for the book and its contents. I am happy with what I got. Other folks may not be if they were hoping to get the pen as well! I also have an ultraviolet light (both bandwidths) of which I also purchased here on Amazon last summer. I intend to pass it over the books’ pages to see if there is anything hidden on them in UV ink that I would otherwise miss without the UV wand. I suggest to any Potter fan that they will of course have to get this guide book if they already have the Marauder’s Map! P.S… In order to complete this review, I decided to check the pages with my Amazon purchased UV light. Unfortunately, there are 4 fold out maps in the book that have hidden UV footprints and images on them. There are also several pages along the way that also have a few hidden UV marks and images. So in order for a reader to completely enjoy this book, the UV light is a must! Since I have a light already that works on this book, I didn’t need the wand. Others would need it however! To read the hidden content, one will need a UVA 365nm longwave UV light, if missing the included wand. …I am still waiting for my letter! :-)

I purchased this as a gift for my nine-year old great-nephew. He absolutely loves it - lots of hidden activities, fun things to do!! He is truly engrossed with it. Be aware that if the child has not read all books in the series, there are spoilers present.

Perfect gift

I gave this book as a gift but of course I had to check it out myself! The light for the map and the invisible ink pen works exactly as it should, it is super cool! The book is informative, interesting, and intelligently made. I was just as excited about this book as the child I gave it too, and so were the parents! Now I am getting one for myself

Um ótimo item para os fãs de Harry Potter. O livro é muito interessante com os vários textos sobre Hogwarts e o mapa com a caneta UV funciona muito bem. Tal como no filme vê-se a a aparecer no mapa as pegadas das personagens. Aconselho a compra!

子供がハリーポッターが好きなので、クリスマスプレゼントに用意しました。 プレゼントを開けて喜んだのもつかのも、杖が機能しない。 この本は忍びの地図になっていて、杖に特殊インクのマーカーがついていて、更にライトがつくようになっています。 書いた絵や字がライトによって初めて浮かび上がるというものです（よくありますが） ライトが全くつかずで（最初に入っている電池がまずつかず）電池を買い直しましたが、やはりつかず、 杖の不良でした。子供が「サンタさんが、壊れておもちゃを送ってきたの？」と聞いてくるのが、辛かったです。 良品と交換を希望しましたが、チェックができないんでしょうね。返金にしかならず、クリスマスプレゼントや大切なプレゼントには絶対選ばない方がよいです。

Livro interativo muito bonito e bem acabado. As ilustrações são maravilhosas! Dentro tem vários pedaços do mapa do maroto com diversas mensagens, desenhos e pegadas escondidas que só aparecem com a luz da varinha. Recomendo usar a varinha no escuro ou pouca luz, pois a luz azul é bem fraca. Dentro da varinha tem uma canetinha com tinta invisível escondida!

Super product for Harry Potter fans. My son has spent hours upon hours pouring over the maps and pages. A few points: ▪︎The wand did seem to stop working at one point early on but we switched the batteries around and its been going strong ever since. ▪︎My son is 7 and has read the first 3 books and watched the 3 movies, although there are spoilers it hasn't seemed to bother him as he's watched HP quizzes etc which have also had spoilers. He's desperate for the next book. Great purchase. Grab one for your HP fans.
