I got this T-bar applicator to apply finishes on my new 3/4" white oak flooring. The bar itself was easy enough to work with. I attached it to my extendable pole, got the applicator pad on it, and started my first coat of white-wash stain. It was smearing the stain rather than dragging/snowplowing as I had seen in the countless videos and tutorials I watched online. In addition, over time the T-bar would loosen from my pol (when turning it to the left) and I would have to stop and re-tighten constantly. The T-bar swivel seemed too tight to allow smooth rotation of the bar. Basically it helped me mess up my first coat of stain. I ended up using my backup sheep's wool regular pad applicator to fix and even out the areas that this bar screwed up. I switched to a 14" roller and pan setup, and haven't looked back. The roller applies a MUCH more even coating of the stain and sealer, and I was able to complete each coat of the 1,000sqft of flooring within about 30-45 minutes (which is great when working with water-based coatings). All-in-all I chalk this up to operator error, but I just don't see why all the old-heads tout the T-bar as the best method for application, when the roller was easier, wasted less material, and was more precise to control and feather the coatings. If I ever do another floor in my life, this T-bar won't be involved.

Got this to do a diy sand/ refinish of some old hardwood floors. I've never done a refinish and bought this based on YouTube videos and manufacturer recommendations (not this specific model, but to use a t-bar). Not much learning curve so I got the hang of it pretty quick and my project turned out nice. It saved me a ton of time and got the quality job I was hoping for.

Perfect weight and size. I applied 3 coats of bona way faster than with a roller.

Remodeling a home that has 1,000 s.f. of 50-year-old oak flooring. Sanded throughly, stained and then debated on how apply the water-based oil-modified poylurethane. My 24-yr old son applied the poly with this T-bar system while I did the edge work with a brush and kept his 18" paint tray properly filled and out of his way. Took us about 3 hrs to apply each coat. Abraded, wiped-down & prepped per poly instructions. Applied 3 coats and couldn't be happier with the results! Just remember to "land" and "take-off" from the floor surface as if the T-bar was a plane. Keep the applicator moving as you land and take-off and you won't have any problems with puddles or streaks. Don't push down on the applicator at any time, or you may get bubbles in your finish. Don't rub applicator on paint tray & don't submerge it either. Just dip it deep enough to thouroughly coat the bottom half, then TOUCH it on the paint tray ribs and hold it over the tray, rotating it if necessary to wait for any dripping to stop before applying to floor. GOOD LUCK!

Fantastic piece of equipment. It saved hours and hours of back breaking work, with a brush, painting the decking around my pool. My hard wood decking has no groves and so it worked brilliantly not sure if there would be pooling if you had grooves.

Ive just sanded down our hardwood floor and this T bar applicator is perfect. I just poured clear coat varnish in a line on the floor and this applicator does the job perfectly. I just put it on the end of an extendable pole, not included, there is only one foam applicator but i wrapped it in a plastic bag.

Bright enough to light up a medium size washroom
