"A visual and linguistic pleasure." -- Publishers Weekly While tired farmers and their families are in bed, the harvest moon silently climbs into the sky and starts working its magic. For some, it is the nightly signal to rise and shine. It is time to hunt, to work, or to play in the shadows. For a little girl and her cat, it is an invitation to enjoy the wonders of the night and a last flood of light before the short days of winter set in. With an evocative text and radiant illustrations, this companion to Twilight Comes Twice offers a glimpse of nature's nightlife long after bedtime. Review: Lovely book - Beautifully written Review: Five Stars - Lovely book with really nice pictures.

Nice Autumnal story
Very nice story about the Autumn. My seven year old daughter really likes it and loved reading it to me.

lovely pictures
the pictures are beautiful for children to look at but the text in the story is a little old fashion and hard for children especially of a young age to understand.

Beautiful, poetic story, perfect for reading aloud
I love reading this book to my 8 & 5 year old boys. It's so beautifully written and it keeps their attention, and the illustrations are wonderful. I love to read books to them to strengthen their connection to Earth and the rhythms of nature, and this one is perfect. Highly recommend!

Mediocre Quality
Great book for younge readers and to have within the classroom. 3 star ratting because the book did come damanged, even though it was bought brand new.

Classic Child’s Book
I bought this for my 7 and 5 year old grand kids. What a beautiful story! The illustrations are magical. It captured their attention and after reading it we looked up the date of the harvest moon and the hunter’s moon. I ordered another copy to put in my mom’s free library.

Our favorite harvest moon book
Pretty sure we checked out or bought all the Harvest Moon books out there this year - this book is our favorite. It's written in a way that you need to reflect on the meaning - which is great for initiating conversations and teaching metaphors. Or you can just enjoy the lovely rhythm and rich words at bedtime.
