PRICE ,TASTE. THEY WERE ONE DAY OUT OF DATE SO I PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER.. GREAT FOR BLT OR PUPPY TREATS. COULDN'T BELIEVE THE PRICE 12 2 1\2 OUNCE PACKS FOR UNDER $9.00. I'LL BUY BEST BY DATE EXPIRED ANYTIME.. THANK YOU AMAZON

I gave it a four star for flavor because I have recently found out I just dont like pre cooked bacon. This is a little worse on flavor even still so it gets 4 stars there. Otherwise it is a great value even cheaper than Save-a-Lot when they have them.

***Preppers and experienced campers/outdoorsmen skip to bottom*** I'm no Hormel shill NOR a competing brand naysayer. So that being said, lets get this out of the way: Bought 9/1/18 use by date 2/18/19. As soon as I opened it, both (annoyingly picky) cats came running. Dog started whining at window 30 sec later. late teen daughter came rolling in to kitchen with "I smell bacon". FACT: both cats, dog, and to a lesser extent daughter *teens hide there emotions better then pets* seemed to really love it. Daughter agreed with me that it tasted exactly like I had cooked it and let it cool down. I was unable to complete my evaluation because other teen daughter showed up and it went faster then half gallon ice cream after a breakup. ***Preppers and outdoorsman used to eating and storing food for mid to long term*** It's twice as thick as the regular Hormel black label fully cooked. Key is that it also has some fat on it still: not near as much as the Yoders Bacon (buying as much grease as bacon) nor is it totally grease free like regular Hormel Black Label. Hormel messaged me that if it is immediately stored in just a refrigerator that its use by life can go out to 2 years (4 times its 6 month quality use by life) OR even longer. Translated that should mean 4 years real shelf life refrigerated.

I have used Hormel Naturals Ready Cooked for a long time and it had 13 strips per package. It was no longer available last time I ordered so I bought this. Same price less strips.

Totally disappointed I can not believe I paid $50 for this when you had the same product on line with either the same amount of slices for less money....ugh so disappointed And I am usually totally satisfied with everything........

we took some camping really nice for breakfast or lunch . no skillet to scrub.

updating my review: just received a second order, and the best by date is less than 30 days - this is for an entire box of bacon... beware! this is good bacon and will really crisp up if you go a full 60 seconds in the microwave - but beware that the best buy date will only be a few months off... for example, this was purchased March 6 2019 and arrived with an expiry/best buy of June 2019... however, as others have reported, these can be frozen and deployed later other makers, such as Oscar Mayer, include the portions separated into two packs and others use a ziplock... these are only in a one-time use pack and must be scissored open

As i was opening the first pkg, i happened to see the expiration date. The bacon is 2 weeks past the expiration date. I looked at the next pkg in the box. Same thing. I'm assuming that all 12 pkgs in the box are past date. Disappointed in that. I opened the bacon and warmed it in the microwave. It was fine. HOWEVER, if I am going to receive expired food, I would have liked to have known. It should not be sold at the full price. No stars for that. With that said, the bacon does taste really good. Five stars for that. It has no carbs or sugar (though some sugar is listed in the ingredients) which is good for keto. Five stars for that. Overall giving three stars.
