Hi, Is this ready to use in Italy?

This is ready to work in Italy. I put in a code to Rome from the U.K and a route was planned. It also gave me warning of toll roads and asked if I wanted them included on the route. It also warned me that some countries drive on different sides of the road, it asked if I would like warning of this when approaching a country with opposite road directions.

Does it record route?

If you mean does it have a list of past destinations then yes.
