Great results, very fair price, but sadly, the stank is real (edited!)
Starting with the good, I am really pleased. I (61f) had been using The Ordinary 5% lactic acid drops on my face, and saw subtle improvement in surface texture. I thought, ok, I don't have any irritation with this, so let's try amping up the percentage. Test patching with this 12% product was ok. Some mild pinprickling - not burning -which is what I expected, and only lasts about a half hour. No rash, no roughness, and the faint pinpricks tell me it's penetrating to do the work. After about a week using it, I'm really liking what I see, and the price doesn't hurt at all. Having said that... I am not what anyone would call "scent sensitive". I wear perfumes, don't have any allergies, headaches, or reactions. But man, this has a smell all its own. It's just, ugh. Like you left yogurt rotting in a rubber glove. And you can't get any closer to the source of the smell than on your own face. It doesn't seem to fade much, either. I could still smell it quite clearly by the end of the day when I put it on in the morning. I actually had my friend sniff me. Closer. Ok, now closer... She practically had her nose pressed up against my cheek when she said, "Oh, ok, now I think I'm smelling it." So it's not like it's stinky to anyone else. But again, nobody smells your own face more clearly than you do, and even at the end of the day it was very noticeable to me. So I do have to knock a star off for that. Having said all that? Still gonna keep using it, because it really does seem to be doing a nice job smoothing out fine surface crepeyness on my face, and plumping/hydrating. Maybe at some point that particular receptor will burn out in my nose and I'll stop noticing that smell. I really hope so, because I rarely see such nice results in such an inexpensive product. (edit) Had to come back and edit this to give it that last star. I'm calling this User Error. More is not better here, and when I used a little less and massaged that in thoroughly, the smell was much, much less, and then really did fade away to nothing in about an hour. I guess applying too much to absorb easily on your face would naturally make it sit there all day on the surface.

Glowing, Silky-Smooth Skin That’s Worth the Initial Smell
I’ve been using AmLactin Daily Nourish Therapeutic Body Lotion, and I can definitely see why it’s so highly recommended. I first heard about it from a dermatologist I follow on Instagram, who speaks very highly of it, so I decided to give it a try. The 12% lactic acid gently exfoliates dead skin while deeply moisturizing, and the results have been amazing. After just a short time, my arms and legs look noticeably smoother, softer, and have a healthy glow that I wasn’t getting from regular body lotion. I love that it exfoliates without any scrubbing, making it easy to incorporate into my routine. The only downside is the scent. It has a strong ammonia-like smell when you first apply it, which isn’t pleasant. Thankfully, the odor fades once the lotion dries and a little time has passed, so it hasn’t been a dealbreaker for me. Overall, the results far outweigh the temporary smell. My skin has never looked or felt better, and I’ll definitely be adding this to my daily skincare routine. If you’re dealing with dry, rough skin and want smoother, glowing skin, this lotion is absolutely worth trying.

A great addition to my daily routine
I’m in my 50s, and my skin has become much drier over the last few years. I started using AmLactin as part of my daily skincare routine, and I’m really happy with the results. I apply it after my shower, and my skin feels much softer and stays moisturized much longer than with the lotions I used before. The rough, flaky patches on my legs have improved, and my skin looks healthier overall. It does have a light scent when you first apply it, but it fades quickly. For anyone dealing with very dry skin, especially as we get older, I think this lotion is definitely worth trying. I’ll keep buying it.

There's only a little smell but don't worry it goes away!
I was interested in trying AmLactin mainly for the exfoliating factor. My skin is always prone to ingrown hairs, so I wanted something that could help me out with that. After using it for some time, I would say that this product is not bad. In my opinion, it's a bit greasy and there's a slight chemical smell that you can't ignore. But it definitely does the job. Before buying this product, I was super nervous about the smell that people were claiming ruined it for them...I think people are just super sensitive. Yes, it's there but I let my skin air dry and it quickly goes away. Don't let people trick you into thinking it smells like expired yogurt...that's insane lol I don't believe I've used this lotion long enough to decide if I'll buy it again. But so far my skin feels soft and moisturized!

Love this!
This stuff works to soften my skin and exfoliates. The smell isn’t great but it works. I don’t recommend using after shaving your legs as it burned mine. I only use it for rough patches on my legs when needed. Definitely worth it for exfoliation and soft skin.

If you start itching. Stop using it.
I had very dry flaking forearm skin. I tried this lotion. It goes on nicely and did help my skin. After about 5 days of using it, my forearms startted to itch. It got worse and worse, to the point I had little blood blisters appearing on my forearms, and the itching drove me crazy. I showers to wash off the lotion and now the itching is gone and my arms feel better. I might just use this lotion every now and then. It did help my skin, but was very itchy and a little scary to use. I only applied it twice a day like the instructions said to do. Use with caution, if you start to itch, STOP using it. Good luck.

Smells
VERY GOOD! Fast working to smooth skin and clear dark spots! I use it daily in the body after showering and in the face at night or before showering, then add moisturizer and sunscreen. The smell isn't good, but I got used to it. It smells like soy sauce.

I’m sorry, what smell?
Upon receiving I expected this product to have a terrible smell after reading about it in so many reviews..but, there isn’t one. If you’ve ever used Faded or BFE Thigh Treatment - those two DEFINITELY have their distinct, terrible smells. The Amlactin glides on and soaks into my skin effortlessly. I wake up feeling soft and refreshed almost like a new day brings new skin. I am focusing on my thighs primarily so I will come back to update its effectiveness in the area with photos to compare. So far, I’m really liking this lotion.

EXCELLENT
BEST OFF ! !

Best body lotion for sensitive & acne prone body skin
Love this body lotion! It moisturises without being greasy and leaves your body super soft. It has no fragrance so it is suitable for my extremely sensitive skin . I've tried other body lotions from the pharmacy but either they had fragrance or they were too greasy . It has been only a month but I can already see a remarkable improvement in my skin condition.
