A fabulous journal which I purchased as a present. Comes in a presentation box making it a lovely gift. The recipient was very pleased with it, it is very good quality and has a very useful back page pocket.

The notebook is a lovely shade of blue, seems to be well made, but I can't comment on durability 'in the field' because I've just received it. The paper is thick and even with a fountain pen their is no bleed through, but the paper is not ideal for fountain pen ink, especially nibs wider than EF or F, anything broader, it may not bleed through, but your writing will feather/spread out, and soak into the paper, and probably make it messy and perhaps illegible. How severe that will be, of course, depends on the ink you choose to use. If I was going to use a Fountain pen on this notebook, I'd definitely use my Pilot pen with the finest Nib I have, and a quick(er) drying ink for sure—not an expensive ink, something utilitarian and tested in the field over decades by professionals, like Parker's Qink or something like that. However, if you intend instead, like me, to use a pencil, ballpoint, rollerball, gel pen, etc, and not a fountain pen (which is usually best kept for certain types of paper, e.g. Rhodia or Clairefontaine, etc), your new Beechwood Journal Notebook, I think, will serve you well, or it could make a lovely gift for someone special.

Absolutely incredible service. Ordered pm on one day and arrived before noon the next day. Importantly left in exactly the place I had specified on the order form. I was also kept abreast of the delivery update by constants emails. It makes a beautiful gift with wonderful package; i love the sturdy box, with no dented corners, tissue paper and a great note. It is stylish and smart and would work for either men or women. It has the feel and sense of a luxury item but at an affordable price. Absolutely love it and will be buying more. And the best part is that the quality of paper is such that it passes the writing test ie. you can write in a fountain pen and the ink does not show. So, very good quality paper and super smooth to write on. If there is a downside it is the colour of the leather. This is highly personal but I am not keen on brown leather. And actually, don't have any brown shoes, or handbags etc so it is definitely a personal foible. Looking forward to the exact same product but in colours. I will be buying more as gifts.

Paper is a great thickness and lovely to write on. I also love that the pages are perforated so that they can be torn out, if needed. Ideal for taking notes and looks fantastic. Worth the extra money for something that feels so lovely to use.

This is second one of these journals I've had and I like them a lot. The item is beautifully packaged and very well made, I write in it using a variety of ink pens and the heavy weight paper is really good because even the wet inks do not soak through. Will get another one when I have filled this on.
