Connectivity is quick, the tracking working perfectly the battery life is great. It folds down small. It is heavy with a phone on the end & the selfie stick out. Fatigued arms from weight when trying to get action shots. Packs down nicely in the carrying case. App is easy to navigate. Worth it.

My Gimbal is amazing. I absolutely love using it and it was worth every penny. I had a random issue with mine after a few months, but their customer service was prompt and patient (as that month was absolutely insane for me so I was the delay in service). They kept my ticket open while I tried to figure my life out when they very well could have closed it and sent me on my way. When I finally did get it together they replaced my Gimbal immediately with a brand new one, no struggle, no extra charge, just great service. I would buy from this company with absolute confidence. The Gimbal itself makes solo shooting so much efficient and professional. It can track, take visual commands (record off/on/etc), and its stabilizing allows for smooth camera movements. This is a must have if you shoot your own promotional videos, if you’re a real estate agent, marketing, guerrilla film maker, or just want to make higher ends videos of any kind.

I've not seen a review that mentions phone compatibility for Motorola phones, so I thought I would give a few insights. I am using the X3 SE plus with a Motorola G Power 2025. First, the jaws will not hold the phone in a thicker "2 piece" case that many people use. I have a thinner case ordered that should work, and the jaws hold it just fine without a case. Easy pairing with the phone but using the Hohem app is a bit wonky. In actuality, the app really doesn't add much but the time lapse and a few other effects. The zoom doesn't seem to work with the Moto and is not designed to work with the remote anyway (it uses the wheel on the side)- if I have to actually touch the gimbal/phone, it's about as easy to use the zoom on the phone screen. That being said, all the functions (start/stop, two button switch between photo/video, front/back camera switch) all work fine. So, I give the gimbal 4.5 stars and the app 3. The gimbal gets 4.5 because of the relatively wimpy tripod foot. It attaches with a 1/4 screw so I really don't see why they couldn't have included one with a bigger, more stable footprint. UPDATE- the Hohem Joy app zoom now works (probably user error). I do think the screen zoom may well work better and shake the camera less than the wheel. To solve the tripod problem I bought and inexpensive Neewer T505 tripod and it is perfect for the gimbal. The attached video and picture show the gimbal on the Neewer. The video shows how stable it is at approximately 7 foot extension.

Worked for the first 15 minutes while I tested it out. Seemed pretty good, having good video quality, foldable, easy remote control, and user friendly, but it doesn't rotate 360°. My problem: when I tried to use it at an event for my job, it died before I could even connect my phone through the app. Tried charging it again and it did the exact same thing even though it said it was fully charged... Wish I could return it since I can't actually use it... The protection plan doesn't even cover battery issues, so that was also a waste...

I’m giving this 4 stars mainly because I didn’t realize the product requires downloading their app to use most of the features. You can’t zoom, switch from photo to video, or use face tracking without it, and it won’t work with your phone’s native camera or other apps you prefer. The app itself took forever to download and never finished, and I really didn’t want another app on my phone. Because of that, I wasn’t able to test the actual performance of the gimbal/selfie stick and decided to return it. If you don’t want to rely on a separate app, you may want to look for a different option.

Only just started using it but so far so good. Works as advertised. Seems well built and sturdy. Only real complaint is you pretty much have to hold it vertically while using it. Feels a little unnatural.

I have been using it for my videos and it’s so great for filming myself, especially with the auto detection feature, the quality for the price is incredibly! It connects to my phone in seconds and the app works fantastic, it’s sturdy but you can fold it and does not take a lot of storage. So far 100% recommended

Pretty cool, but with some real flaws. Pros: Build seems solid enough, not luxury per se, but not horribly cheap feeling. The variety of modes gives a lot of handy options for different uses of the stabilizer. Cons: The detachable remote is neat, but the record button (as well as the tracking feature) only works in the Hohem app, which is a shame because the app reeks of cheap Chinese slop. Want to record 4k 60fps ProRes footage or charge your phone while using the gimbal as even just a tripod? Good luck. USB cables impact the weight enough to throw the whole balance of the gimbal off, whereupon it starts beeping and freaking out. I would have an issue while holding it where the weight of my phone caused it the movable part of the phone holder (used for stabilization) to fall backwards, making me have to pop it back up. This happens quite frequently, and is very frustrating. I think the iPhone 15 pro max is too big/heavy for this phone. Even when removing my case (basically a necessity), it still doesn’t look like my phone gets as snug in the grip as it should. I have hardly used it after the first two weeks because these issues are just annoying enough to sour the whole experience, and if I’d thought to do so before, I probably would have returned it. Never had a gimbal before, so I’m not sure if these are common issues or not, but yeah, this thing did not live up to my expectations.
