The three elegant books of this series showcase exquisite collections of jewels and objets d'art, many from the world-famous auction house, Christie's. Each is lavishly illustrated with over 150 full-color specially commissioned photographs covering different historical periods and styles. Details the finely crafted construction and materials used in each piece, as well as its individual history. You will marvel at Faberge's famed Easter eggs, Lalique's masterpieces in glass, and a stunning collection of vintage and modern jewelry. Series includes: Jewels, Lalique, and Faberge. Review: Lalique - The book had a beautiful, tasteful cover and the photo on the front made me fall in love with vintage glassware and the beauty of it's design. The size was just right and the book had color photos which is a must for me in collecting books like this. The publisher seems to have spent a lot of money on the materials and artful photos used for this book. The descriptions were very informative. Tells you a lot about the history of the piece in plain and simple terms. I was not disappointed at all. Review: Glassworks - This is an excellent resource for those interested in Lalique's later glass designs, with sections on vases, bottles, tableware, statuary, decorations, and lighting. However, none of his jewelry pieces were to be found, to my disappointment. Looks like I'll have to find another book to round out my collection.

Pity for ignorants
I feel very sorry for Ms Hodge, but having a bit of knowledge about Lalique glass and being myself a good collector, I want other future unlucky buyers to know that the author, apart from having published the most horrible photographs of Lalique glass I have seen in the last 20 years, has absolutely no idea about R. Lalique's work. I really wonder how an editor can publish a book like this. No more comments. Too sad, after all.... Augusto Giardini
