HM-186LS Small Speaker Microphone

This appears to be a genuine Icom Microphone, not a knockoff... Works well, fits well, and in general sounds good! The connectivity to the radio is good, all functions work. PTT button feels solid, not cheap. Pros: Appears to be a genuine Icom product. Sounds good. Clip holds the mic in place. Not heavy. Connects up to the HT with no issues. Small in size Cors appears to be rubber, not plastic. Cons: Sound is slightly tinny, but this is to be expected in a small speaker. In a lot of cases it helps by restricting the frequency response to voice frequencies only. May be by design... So maybe net even a con... Conclusion: Happy I bought it, it works well, matches the radio, and is easy to use. Plugs right in, no setup... works every time.

I use this microphone with an ID-51 transceiver. It is great as it keeps the antenna and RF energy away from my head. Sound quality is good and the PTT button is reliable.

Honestly, the output volume of the mic isn't where I need it, I have move it closer to my ear in areas where people are having normal level conversations in order to hear what's coming out, on the other hand, I have been told that my voice is crystal clear for others to hear. To mitigate the issue of being hard for me to hear what's coming out, I just bought a listen only earpiece connector

Another very high quality speaker/mic from Icom. It's easily as good or better than the mic in my ID-51A Plus. The speaker like just about all small speaker mic's is on the tinny side but gets darn loud. The speaker in the ID-51A Plus has a bit more depth and loudness to it than this. The spiral cable seems longer than the speaker/mic I had for my Yaesu FT1D, this is something I REEEEALLLY like. I also like how the connector has a rubber seal around it. It fits in perfectly. The mic also has a headphone jack on the bottom of it that;s the NORMAL size and not the stupid micro size. I'm new to Icom but at least with the ID-51 and the accessories for it, it seems like people actually USED this gear and figured out things that made sense, and are user friendly. It even shows in little touches like this mic.

IP無線500Hに使用。当たり前ですがピッタリ。先にしっかり調べずにSの付かない似たような「HM-186L」を買ってしまったのですが、ジャックが微妙に大きく使えませんでした。それでこちらを書い直したのデス。 音質は本体よりむしろ良いくらい。個人的にはもう少し大きいほうが好みですが、取り回しは非常に良好。使いやすいです。カールコードは使っているうち、そうですね、ラバープロテクタントなぞ使ってメンテナンスしないと三、四年で加水分解してびっくりするくらいボロボロに千切れます。メンテしても五、六年もてば良いかも。三千円で五年使えれば充分でしょうが、コードは加水分解することは念頭におく必要があります。 その上で、これは仕事の効率が相当上がるのでおすすめ。交信のたびにいちいち無線機本体取り出してカチカチやってられません。

I use this with an Alinco DJ-VX50, which takes the ICOM style plug. It works beautifully and everybody thinks I have an ICOM while I keep my cheapo radio in my pouch...lol Note that this is NOT a Kenwood plug.

ID50に使用しましたが、ケーブルが固く伸びる前に倒れてしまいます。昔のマイクはもっと柔らかいコードでしたのでそのイメージでした。4100も固かったので最近の製品は品質低下か？。受信音は本体より小さく聞きにくいので、受信時は耳元に持ってくるような使いかたになります。音質は特に悪いわけではありませんが、本体の音質が聞き取りやすいだけに私としては残念です。

開封してセットしたところ接続が出来なくて不良品と思いましたが、壊れても良いと思い何度かチャレンジしたところ、無理して差し込みを強く押し込んだらつながりました。問題は防水用にゴムパッキンが2重に厚くなっていることでした。
