Devialet Mania - Portable Smart Speaker (Light Grey)

Price: First off, this is a very expensive speaker! I would say that this speaker should be priced around $600 - $700, but I AM KEEPING it absolutely! Comparison: I did a side by side with my Harmon Kardon Studio 7; which is a great speaker. The Mania made the HK sound thin in regard to the mids and highs. That HK is very focused and directional sounding as well. The bass seemed very muddy in comparison to the Mania as well. Highs and Mids: I was very skeptical about the Mania having full range drivers with no tweeters. The highs are silky smooth which creates this bubble of sound that is breathtaking and very hard to articulate. These full range drivers are next level performance and are not fatiguing and can beautifully present acoustic music, as well as electric guitars with depth and authority. You get full range buttery highs with beautiful midrange that projects voices with clarity and competence! Bass: It will take a couple of hours for the bass to really start to present itself. I am sure that this speaker needs proper break-in time since I have only had this running for about 2 and 1/2 hours. Yes, break-in time is real. The bass has depth and texture which is quite surprising how effortless the Mania does its magic! The bass is absolutely presented with authority and is impressive sounding. The Mania's bass defies physics at times. I placed my Mania on my dresser a bit closer to the back wall. I was just amazed at the entire spectrum of sound that was produced from such a small speaker. I had no idea what I was missing from my music with other speakers. This certainly sounds like a high-end speaker Harmon Kardon Studio 7 vs Mania overall take: FOR SURE! My Harmon Kardon speakers were my go-to for years - and they ARE GREAT speakers!! This Mania is on a completely different level; hands down NO comparison! I am keeping this speaker because listening to music is on a different level now; I did not even know this type of experience existed. I have the Gray Mania, but that color does not show well in the photo. This speaker is amazing, if you can afford it, get it! The sound from this small speaker just does not make sense. I hope this helps someone. This was my present for getting a really good raise at work. Money well spent! I can excuse the high price because it is THAT good. Update - 1-7-2025 - I had to send back the Mania, as I had problems getting it to turn on. I am ordering another speaker to see if mine had a software glitch.. Update - 1-10-2025 Purchased a new speaker in black, and it works great. There was some sort of software issue with the last speaker - absolutely.

[Esta opinión está un poco extensa, sorry 😅] ◆ CONTEXTO Soy un fanático del buen audio y he tenido la oportunida de escuchar muchos altavoces, desde las marcas mas baratas hasta las marcas de renombre como Sonos, Bose, Harman Kardon, y algunas otras más... Con el paso del tiempo construyes una percepción y sabes "como es el buen audio", hasta el momento en que conocí a Devialet. Conocí a Devialet hace unos 4 años atrás y vi la gama de altavoces que tienen (son altavoces muy caros), pero, allí quedó "la espinita" y me dije "algún día escucharé algo de esta marca"; hace 3 años sacaron el Devialet Mania, pero no le puse atención porqué creí que no cumplía con mis expectativas (Quería buen volumen para interiores, buena potencia en frecuencias graves y portabilidad). En este 2026 quería algo mucho más portable que mi HK Go + Play 3, ya que en fines de semana salgo de viaje y quería algo con buena potencia y buena calidad, en fín, me reencontré con la Devialet Mania jaja 🤯 ◆ SOBRE EL VENDEDOR Me animé a comprarla con un vendedor externo (Full Moon Miracles Shop) y todo el envío estuvo de lujo, muy rápido y bien protegido, recomiendo mucho a este vendedor. 👌🏼 ◆ MI EXPERIENCIA Los materiales son de una calidad super buena, tiene un muy buen diseño y es muy compacta (un poco menos de la mitad de tamaño que mi HK Go + Play 3, wow! 😮), eso si, es algo pesada, y en lo personal tengo un poco más de cuidado al maniobrarla ya que los woofers están expuestos (me da un poco de miedo lastimarlos). El audio (otro wow!) es de lo mejor que he escuchado, tiene unos graves (muy) muy potentes y los agudos están al punto perfecto (para mi gusto), el altavoz se desempeña mucho mejor cuando lo pones cerca de una pared y se calibra en automático cuando ya no detecta movimiento (tiene un acelerómetro incorporado). Este altavoz es perfecto para escuchar EDM (lo probé en sub-generos como Hardstyle, Big Room, Dubstep y Tropical House), ufff tiene un audio muy envolvente y rico en graves, los medios están un poco opacos (pero para mi está bien) y los agudos complementan muy bien toda la música :D A veces escucho mi música, veo al Mania y me digo "Que obra de ingeniería, es tan pequeñito y tan potente". ◆ DESVENTAJAS :/ Al reproducir con Airplay desde una Macbook Pro, he notado algunos problemas cuando pauso y lo dejo así por algunos segundos, se desconecta de la Mania y tengo que volver a conectarla desde el panel de controles. Es algo menor y creo que parece ser un tema de Apple y esto también pasa con productos de Sonos. Algo que no me gustó es que la aplicación necesita si o si estar conectada a una red WIFI para poder administrar la Mania, pensé que se podía por Bluetooth pero no :/ Y esto no se especifica en la web oficial pero yo al menos esperaba que tuviera activado el UPnP para poder transmitir mis archivos de audio, hay ocasiones que no puedo usar la Macbook ni transmitir por Airplay y me tengo que conformar con usar el Bluetooth. Y para el bluetooth, solo soporta los codecs más basicos (SBC y AAC), no hay opciones como LDAC o AptX para streaming con un poco de mejor calidad (Si tienes un Android, conformate con SBC porque con AAC suena de muy baja calidad). La batería si dura las 10 horas a un volumen de 30-35% reproduciendo por Airplay, pero si subes el volumen al 70-80% con Bluetooth la duración baja a unas 5-6 horas. POr mi no hay problema ya que casi siempre tengo un enchufe cerca. ◆ ¿PARA QUIEN ES? Si priorizas calidad de audio sobre el volumen (si tiene buen volumen, pero no tanto para exteriores), escuchas música en interiores, te gustan los géneros musicales con ecualización en V (Prefencia en Bajos y Agudos) y quieres algo compacto/fácil de transportar, estoy seguro que estarás super satisfecho con este altavoz 💪🏼
