Can pie dough be used in these instead of bread and can it be used in an open flame (camp fire?)

Pie dough can be used in a Toas-Tite. A camp fire may be to hot and cook to fast but a stove with a med- low heat setting will work. The trick with uncooked dough is low and slow. You are not just toasting you are baking the dough. Have a Toas-Tite Great Day

Can i use Pillsbury dough instead of bread or pie crust?

We have used frozen pie dough. Experiment! Use a very low temperature and a long time. Unlike bread you have to cook the raw dough.

Are the handles wood?

Yes, the handles are American hardwood. They are from Maine. Thank you for your interest in Toas-Tite.

Can this product be used on glass top electric stove? Can it be used on a gas grill?

Gas grill yes. I would not use on glass top stove. I don’t imagine it would heat evenly very well.

These worked perfectly & I’ll admit I was very skeptical. They proved me wrong for sure!! These are very solid & lightweight compared to the cast iron alternatives! Used with bread & tortilla with various stuffings (PBJ, pizza sauce/cheese/Pepperoni, just cheese, and even did a chicken (already cooked)/salsa/cheese/onion/cilantro!) ALL OF THEM WERE PERFECT, every time! They also made ZERO mess (none of fillings leaked out!) & were super easy to wipe clean afterwards. The one with 22 in handle (longer) is perfect. The other two with the shorter handles (18 in) are too short & make it difficult to cook due to needing your hands to be so close to the heat. I would pass on the 3 pack & just buy 2 of the longer handled ones.
