The best product (and the only one like it) on the market!
First, let me say that I am an actual buyer, and that I paid for this product. I'm not a paid or "free stuff" reviewer. I'm a 42-year-old fly fishing fanatic, but I fish all forms (spinning, saltwater, offshore, heck, even spear fishing). And, given how my search for something like this line spooler seemed in vain until I found this product, I wanted to share. So, having said all that...This spooler is amazing! I looked all over Amazon and other sites for something that would do exactly what this does, and this was the only product that fit my parameters. I needed something that was:- Able to spool and unspool line in either direction.- Sturdy, and durable.- Reasonably lightweight, compact, and portable.- Simple.- Reasonably priced.Ideally, I also wanted something that was:- Modular, and able to fit a variety of fishing applications (not just fly fishing).- Able to hold multiple spools of line or backing at the same time. With the exception of this product, I challenge you to find anything on the open market that fits all of the above. I couldn't. But, thankfully, the Plusinno Fishing Line Spooler met or exceeded all my my search parameters! It's lightweight, simple, compact, portable, modular, sturdy, and fits multiple spools of line, backing, etc. at the same time, and is very reasonably priced. And, it all fits into a box that is 11" x 4" x 3" (long x wide x tall). I have included two photos to show this thing (and the box and directions it comes with) in action, spooling first backing and then 6wt fly line onto a Lamson fly reel (I had already unspooled the same line, as I was only replacing the backing with this killer orange stuff). The color directions are very clear, with photos.I have now unspooled and spooled line and backing onto three fly reels or spare spools, and redone the one pictured twice (on account of wanting the killer backing on this one too). And I'm about to do all of my buddy's reels. I love this thing! As far as I know, there is nothing like it on the market, certainly not for under $40. Honestly, until I found this product, I was going to construct my own because I couldn't find anything that fit my needs. This saved me the time and trouble, and was far less expensive than if I had tried to come up with this myself! I cannot recommend this line spooler enough. You will not be disappointed!

Make Life Easier (For your wife and kids!)
I have to admit - I'm the guy who made his wife and kids hold the pencil through the spool of line, while I kept tension on the line with one hand and reeled in with the other. Yes, it works, but is it the best way?Having now put line on 3 reels, I can tell you, without a doubt, that no, the "pencil technique" is NOT the best way! This Plusinno line spooler IS the best way! I would consider this a "luxury" item since it is designed to simply make life easier for you. Set up took me about 2-3 minutes based on a simple picture of the item and the instructions. It connects up easier than my kids' last lego project and is very compact and handy. I've so far attached this to an ironing board, my kitchen counter (pictured) and my dining room table. The best surface is a solid surface. The ironing board was not ideal. Basically - it can be attached pretty much anywhere. The clamping system allows for a pretty large surface - maybe 4-5". Once clamped down, it's very secure. Broken down, it can be folded up to a very compact size as well. (see pic)Once together, you put your spool of line on, screw down the spool holder and adjust the star shaped knob on the right side (drag style similar to a casting reel) of the spooler for proper tension, so you get your line set correctly on the reel. Then simply tie the line on to your reel and spin your reel knob until you have the correct amount of line on.I even had my 7 year old do it on a second reel after he watched me set up the first. It was very simple for him to do as well. The only drawback is that I didn't have something like this 25 years ago!!!

Great Spooler! A Little Lacking in Quality
First of all, let me start by saying I did receive this product free for testing. This will be an unbiased review and based solely on my findings on testing.Let's get straight forward to it. The spooler is an excellent device and I can see it being a very promising unit. It helped keep the spool of line in place as you reel it onto your reel's spool. It has a nice simple drag knob for keeping tension as you transfer. I can see this being a very good pro for braided line to prevent it from digging into itself. Another pro would be that you can unspool from your reel onto an empty spool on hand, very great and handy in case you need to take off your line let's say for reel cleaning and management. This is the first and only spooler I've seen on Amazon that has such a feature. What's really lacking is the build quality. It isn't bad, but the choice of material used for the C-clamp as well as the rod holder, could definitely be better. Using hard plastic made these points flimsy. As another review has stated before, no matter how hard I clamped the thing to my desk, the spooler does sway from side to side as you reel in making it a bit harder to do so. The rod holder on the other hand was just as flimsy, being all plastic, didn't kept the reel in place, also making it a bit of a chore to spool the line. To be fair, I was using a 4000 reel, which in their defense, could've been too big but there is no description for a maximum weight or size of the reel for this product. I can see this being less flimsy for low profile baitcasting reel and smaller spinning reels.Overall, plan was great and innovation was definitely there, but execution was poor. For an almost $40 product, materials used really could've been better to help with the sturdiness of the build and help alleviate frustration during use.Update: After winding up in a situation where I had to cut my lines off and desdpool my line, going back to how I did it before really wasn't much easier. I thought I'd pull out the spooler and try it again. It looks like setting it up without putting your reel on the rod of the spooler and using your rod with it helps most of the problem and turned this product very useful in all actuality.I still give it an A plus for innovation as it also helped me "transfer" line from one of my reels to another!
