I took two stars away because it doesn’t always record. When it does, it’s great! Video quality is outstanding for something this small and inexpensive. Even comes with a cheap SD card. Battery is decent. I get a few hours out of it. The other one I ordered that looked similar, lasted 30 minutes. I switch this to 3 for loop recordings and sometimes nothing recorded even when I see the red light flash 3 times which means it’s good to go according to the instructions. I still use it, maybe I’ll try a better memory card.

Camera doesn’t record at all. The instructions say that when you turn it on to either motion-detection or constant-record, the light will flash red 3 times. Mine doesn’t do that. In both settings, it flashes blue/red (purple) 5 times and it never saves videos at all. I already tossed the packaging, so I guess I’m stuck with it. I don’t recommend this product.

Reviewing after one week of use - the unit works well for it's price point, as long as you understand the limitations of the device you will be happy with the purchase. Video and audio quality is good, although the camera angle in the unit I received is a bit tilted, this doesn't affect it's use. This is best used in a well lit area where you don't require an extremely wide FOV, it's perfect for a hallway or monitoring a doorway. I live with roommates and unfortunately our landlord does not allow us to change out any fixtures so there's no lock on my door... caught one of them snooping around my room while I was out of the house already. It's nice that it just looks like a usb drive, and you can leave it plugged in and charging while it records (I was using the motion detection setting). The one minor hiccup I had was I needed to format the SD card before it would work properly, this takes <30 seconds to do and there's an sd card to USB adapter included so this wasn't really a problem, just a word of advice if your unit isn't working right out of the box. Unit does not work well in low light conditions by itself, you would need an IR light source for this. If you are looking for nightvision / low light, I would opt for a more expensive version which has IR LEDs built into the device. This wasn't really a problem for my use case, but worth mentioning.

The idea of a wireless minicam independent of WiFi recording events is a good one since I always have trouble with my WiFi signal. My existing security cameras loses connection all the time. The instructions that came with the camera is a little vague. It should start out with charging the device first. It should also mention using your computer to format the sd card. I had to check this out on YouTube. The time stamp instructions are missing some detail as well. I followed the steps and the time stamp reverted back to the default date and time. It turns out that you should immediately turn on video to make the time and date stamp current. On the plus side, a 64gb sd card is included with my order and the size is so small that it makes it inconspicuous. One also has an option of recording only when motion is detected or continuous recording. The battery should last 6 hours, but I feel that is overly optimistic. After testing this camera at different locations, I realized that the camera does not have a wide angle lens. Also, the night vision is very poor. Armed with this knowledge beforehand, I wouldn’t have purchased this camera. Design: Video camera in a small format
