HazerBaba Coconut Dusted Turkish Delight Candy with Nuts, 16oz (Pack of 1)

I was a little reluctant to buy these Turkish Delights because I remembered that they were big and soft; I don't like soft candy, but I love firm chewy candy. Well, I got them in the mail and opened the box (which didn't match the picture, as the other reviewer noted), but the picture is not what I'm after! These Turkish Delights are cut into 1x1" cubes and they are perfect for just popping in your mouth. The sweet Rose flavor doesn't hit you at first, but then it gets stronger and smoother the more you chew. They are very firm and, boy, do you have to chew, since these have those lucious nuts in them. I am so pleased with these Turkish Delights that I've got to buy more, for my whole family! The only things I might comment on are: there are not very many nuts in the candies, no where close to what the picture shows, but they are very lovely candies anyway, and I hope these are stocked forever -- without the hugh hikes in prices I've been seeing.

We had never heard of these candies but are now big fans of them! They remind us of the chewy orange candies in texture but the chewy part has lots of nuts in it and is not orange flavored. It's a pretty big box of them and they keep well without refrigeration. Our favorite part is the finely ground coconut coating they put on them so the pieces don't stick together in the box. YUMMY stuff!

First time trying Turkish Delight. We are nut lovers in the house, so I chose this product since it additionally had nuts. While it tastes nutty, no distinct nut flavor stands out and the gel is also flavorless. Not a favorite, but I am not sure what it is supposed to taste like? Arrived sealed in bag inside the candy box.

So i always thought one had to dig a while before striking the "motherload" but this little turkish load hold`s a place of their own. Now i only tried turkish delight once before directly from Turkey and that was "uncut" and more firm....yadayadayada...more chewing resistance yadyadayada...but the coconut sprinkle and the presence of nuts wil l give you the chewing resistance needed, because they are rather soft to the bite..almost as winegum wich may be a bit on the soft side. But you certainly get an impression of freshness when biting into these XL sugarbite sized candys. And one more thing, they taste pretty good and they have a nice presentation "feature" One star taken as they are a bit too soft to the bite...and munching away at these will land you in the bathroom in the middle of the night..you can take that from me. UPDATE: my other pack which i just dug into had the "right" density or chewing resistance if you will. This will make your chewing muscles work for their money. Just how i like it! 5 stars.

This is the one. I was buying a "fancier" and more expensive brand before this one, which tasted great, but wasn't right. The fancy brand arrived in tiny chopped up pieces- you just can't get the right chewiness if the pieces of candy are the wrong size. It felt like when you get lox trimmings at the deli rather than nice slices. But this brand has uniform chunks that give just the right mouthfeel. I was hesitant to try the coconut because I love the more traditional powdered sugar rose flavor, but this was delicious, with a complex deep flavor I really enjoyed. Of course, as other reviewers have mentioned, it's best eaten on a sleigh next to a white haired woman while betraying your brother, but it's also great at home with tea.

Unlike what is pictured, there is barely any nuts. Too bad food items cannot be returned.

Tastes exactly like what we bought while visiting Turkye

I have sampled turkish delight all over Turkey and this is among the best I've had. I was surprised that the candy is VERY fresh, and also delicious; it is nearly (admittedly not quite!) as good as the Mustafa Hafiz brand, for example, which was my favorite in Istanbul. For the price (less than $5 a box), you really can't beat this, especially given the high quality. Also, you can give this candy to vegans and vegetarians because the Turks typically don't use animal products in their candy (like gelatin)---Hazer Baba uses corn starch for their thickener, and the ingredients list is all natural. I keep this on hand as an emergency gift and so have given this to many people, all of whom rave about it!
