A singles band if ever there was one, the hits on Pop make the duo of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke of Erasure sound like the Rogers & Hammerstein of synth-pop disco. With the exception of The Circus and The Innocents albums, most of Erasure's full lengths house only a few brief moments of brilliance, the rest of the songs being limp and uninspired. But putting songs like "Blue Savannah" with its sweeping loveliness, the haunting "Ship of Fools", and the campy, raucous "Love to Hate You" all on the same disc shows that when Erasure is on, they shine like a thousand-carat tiara. The energetic and electronic disco is front and centre here with "Oh L'Amour" and the audience participation number "Stop!", but the beautifully crafted "Sometimes" shows the band's true potential. The irrepressible melody line is punctuated by an acoustic riff and a melancholy trumpet solo that actually has to do its best to keep up with Bell's warm lament. I quite liked Erasure when I was in the '80s. I quite liked them when I was in the early '90s. I bought this on the strength of 2 songs: 'Stop!' and 'A little Respect'. When I stuck it in my car CD player, I remembered instantly the numerous other excellent POP songs this duo created - and there's 20 of 'em on this disc. There was a couple I wasn't familiar with, and one that I didn't like originally but now do. Quality music - whatever the genre - stands the test of time, and this is the epitome of SynthPop. Catchy as hell. Better than 'The Pet Shop Boys' fo' shiz! Prolific hit makers, Erasure were (are?) very good. Forget Kylie Minogue, get this instead.

Pop - As good as it gets
Brilliant mix of Erasure hits and a fabulous walk down memory lane. This music hasn't dated or lost its brilliance in the years since it was first released and the electro beat and clear warn tones from Andy Bell are magnificent. Altogether this is a good over view of Erasure's best hits and for me is well worth the buy - amazing value for a CD I have played over and over in the car and at home. No matter how often I listen to this CD I never get tired of any of the tracks. The often bittersweet melancholy of the lyrics that sit at odds with the upbeat tunes are always a refreshing welcome. Highly recommend this CD

Love this album
Bought to replace mine that had seen better days! It’s a great album for those who love Erasure’s early music. Only one little annoyance - it doesn’t display the songs in my car.

La compilation del gruppo anni 80 è molto valida, ma ha mantenuto il master degli inizi anni 2000 e mi risultava leggermente basso di volume ma, se l'impianto è buono con un paio di punti di volume in più si risolve tutto.

Gran recopilación de los singles de Erasure de 1985 a 1992. Los primeros 20 éxitos de esta formación que hoy en día sigue en activo. El envío perfecto y el precio muy bueno. Muy contento con la compra.
