Sturdy Great Quality
Obssesed with this harness! My dog is an escape artist and I feel much more confident walking him around since it’s more secure. I got an xs for my chihuahua mix and it’s the perfect fit. I also love the color. It’s great quality very sturdy.

Then a friend of mine recommend this harness
I foster dogs for our local animal shelter and have watched every type of dog from Jack Russells to German Shepherds. A few of them were escape artist and I was warned to be careful on walks. I used to just use Martingale collars with them but didn't feel they were a safe type of collar to use when bicycling with them on the WalkyDog. Then a friend of mine recommend this harness. I looked it up, read the reviews, bought several sizes, and tried them out. The pros: The dogs cannot back out because of the belly strap. Not a single one has been able to. Most of the dogs take to the harness right away with a few treats, putting on the harness helps teach them manners and not to react when something is put over their heads or around their bellies. I can now safely bicycle with them on the Walky Dog since there is no chance of them backing out of the harness while running, or whip-lashing themselves, or chocking themselves when jerking after a squirrel. The dogs pull less on the leash while I walk them, I think it's because the leash clips to the back and they have less pressure on their necks to pull against. The handle on the back makes it easier to help some of the disabled or sick dogs make the steps up to the house and the jump into the truck, as well as an easy way to grab a dog in an emergency. The straps were a little complicated but the extra steps to adjust them make the harness safer since the straps don't pull loose like other harnesses did, especially when I bicycle with the dogs. I love the inside tag that I can write my name and number on. I used a sharpie and the print has lasted through quite a few washings. The cons: It took a little fiddling to figure out how to adjust the harnesses to fit correctly and snugly. The straps were just a little complicated. The male dogs I watch always urinate on the belly strap, but I just wipe the belly strap down and stick the harness in the wash each night. On some of mixed breed dogs I watched, who were oddly shaped, the adjustment straps hung loose, couldn't reach the side stretchy pockets on the harness to hold them, and posed a tangle hazard when I bicycled with them. I just used pipe cleaner to tie the loose ends to the harness on them. Some of the mixed breed dogs are overweight, just oddly shaped, or narrow chested and the harness would fit, but were just a little looser on them than I'd like, or was able to adjust to. Miscellaneous: Some of the dogs I foster just hated the harness and chewed the side straps to pieces when I put it on. One of the dogs thought it was a toy and shredded the straps in under a minute, my fault for leaving it on the table where he could get it, but I just wish the harness was a little more chew resistant and sturdy. The harness is not reflective, I had to add pieces of reflective tape on them so the dogs and I can be seen easier when it's dark out. All in all a great harness, safe, escape proof, and perfect fore everyday use.

Exactly what you need if you have a dog post surgery or with any kind of lift/support needs
Fits well just follow the size guide. High visibility and convenient handle to help lift into our truck. Does not restrict movement . Very sturdy hardware and appears to be comfortable.

Faily well-fitting, fairly easy to adjust
Mostly good, I can adjust it to fit decently well on my Jack Russell. Its thr only harness he hasnt freed himself from, to go after other dogs. This is his second one, the first held up for about 3 years. I guess we'll see if the quality is as good now, as the company got bigger.

Escape proof and adjustable
Great fit and he can’t wiggle out so far! Light weight and very adjustable. My dog is 50 pounds and got the Medium :)

Beagle Pull No More (almost)
I have 2 beagles - and they pull HARD (they like to follow the nose like most hounds do). After our male beagle going through almost a harness every month for the last 6 months or so (we have tried all kinds) We found this and decided to try this one on our male so I ordered it hoping that it would work a little magic and help out. He has ripped through torn off, slipped out of, and shredded harness after harness. So we recieved this on Friday and have used it a few times, and I'm already noticing a difference - Other Harnesses would - - slide all over him - not help in his pulling - frusterate him to the point he would just take them off (while we were walking) - Not stand up to his pulling - as he shredding a Reinforced harness just by pulling after only a week of owning it - some of them never fit him good because of his length and slim design - one we bought him he just wanted to chew it, its like it tasted so good he chewed holes in it - we had one harness where after 2 days all the stitching came out of it and it was suppose to be durable for up to 80 lbs of pulling and he's only 35 lbs. I was not happy at all RUFFWEAR WEB MASTER HANRESS - AMAZING in just 2 days - - He doesn't pull as much as he has been. - He doesn't mind wearing it, infact we put it on him and he ran off an went to go to sleep in his bed - It doesn't slide all over him it fits him securely and when i need to get his nose focused away from something its super easy. - The handle on the back for lifting it just down right awesome - especially since we hike a lot - he Loves to walk even more now that before, - It has a durable feel and quality to it, that i'm sure is going to last. - THE RED color is very bright and helps me see him better when he's running around the lake without having to put hunting colored items on him. ALL IN ALL I'm and HAPPY and IMPRESSED with this product - I'll probable re-review it in a few months to see if anything changes but we hare satisfied now, and I'm happy we can get back to enjoying out workouts.

No longer good for whippets
I tried the new Ruffwear Webmaster for my whippets after a previous version was the only harness that fit my whippets in length, chest, and did not cut into the shoulders. The new version looked good to me with a more padded chest strap and a neck closure instead of having to slip the harness over the head (which is not a problem for my dogs but more for me as they tend to get impatient and wiggle around). I also liked the idea of having a front attachment for a leash, the older version has leash attachments on the back only. Unfortunately this version of the Webmaster harness no longer works for whippets. While it is of the same great quality, the chest strap is so wide that it rubs into the shoulders when the dogs walks. The front attachment does not make much for improvement of the older version- it is made from fabric and plastic which I wouldn't trust in the long run. All in all it's still a high quality harness, but I'm really disappointed that it no longer works for whippets and similar dogs that are narrow but deep in the chest. I hope Ruffwear will keep the previous versions available, as it is very hard to find a well fitting quality harness for these dogs. I wish Ruffwear would give more details regarding sizing besides just chest girth. Back/thorax length are necessary to consider with a 2 strap harness. The chest strap on the new Webmaster is 2.5 inches, the space between shoulder bones of my dog is 1.75 inches. Would save a lot of returns if more detailed info was provided to the customer. Photos show the 2021 version versus the 2025 version.

Great for barrel chested dogs
The price seems really high, but for me it was worth it. I have a young Boxer, who is a Houdini! She's able to slip out of other harnesses and also pulls like a sled dog with most harnesses. I bought this because of the three straps. For a dog with a barrel chest and skinny waste, this works wonders! She cannot slip out of it, and she's been much better about the pulling because I attach her leash on the chest hook. This allows me to redirect her pulling when she does it. Overall I am very happy with this. Ruffwear, you have my vote and confidence, yet again!!!

Great ... Err on the smaller side if in doubt
Great ... For my little blue Bedlington girl and if looks really smart. She had Small before but the XS is better, the other two can downsize now as I find it pays to err on the smaller size with these if your dogs are slender build. The extra reflective strip over ordinary harnesses is great and saved on of my dogs when a lead hasp failed, as the car driver saw her lit up like a Xmas tree! Great for winter and if hot in summer then I soak them in water as a cooling vest. Works a rest.

Great but very stiff
I purchased 2 of there for our two Shiba inus. They haven't escaped yet, so I have concluded they kept their promise of freedom with restraint.
