Does it work with satin or silk shirts without slipping down?

Yes; however I would suggesting getting the Slick Collar Bundle Pack as it comes with two Slick Collars of different circumstances and heights. It has an additional Slick Collar Slim that fits more snuggly and has a lower profile. They can also be bent slightly for a more custom fit. Search Amazon for the Slick Collar Bundle Pack
