Cosmonaut - Wide-Grip Stylus for Capacitive Touch Screen Tablets (iPad Air, iPad mini, Surface, Kindle Fire, etc.)

I bought this stylus for my mother, who has MS. The wide barrel, grippy surface, and weight make this stylus easier for her to hold and use than any other stylus we've tried, and by a very wide margin. The design is excellent for people with manual dexterity challenges.I tested it myself, and was very impressed with how well it worked both for hand writing and simple drawing.

This gem of a little stylus is perfectly weighted, supremely comfortable, has substantial hand feel, and is simply a joy to use on my iPad 3. It is best suited for artwork like Paper53 in my opinion, although I use it for note taking constantly in apps like PDF Expert and NoteTaker HD. It is by far my favorite stylus. It does take a bit of extra effort if you use a high friction screen protector like the Zagg Invisible Shields. I prefer using a matte finish screen protector - Tech Armor (available here on Amazon) makes some of the best and they're super affordable and lifetime guaranteed in my opinion; fingers and styli flow effortlessly over the smooth finish. I've had the same TechArmor screen protectors on my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 since I first bought them. Also – please note that while the Cosmonaut tip is non-replaceable compared to other styli, it lasts an incredibly long time. I've had my Cosmonaut for several months now and it's still going strong. What's more, it's quality construction gives you that sort of F-150 build quality sensation ... no need for kid gloves with this stylus. This fella is the Tonka truck of styli. I just throw it in one of my backpack's pockets and forget about it. And best of all ... despite the playful Russky space-race name, this little Cosmonaut is made in the good old USA by American workers (which gives me the warm & fuzzies). :-)

I’ve been on a mission to find the best stylus out there (primarily for my iPad Pro, secondarily for any other touch screen devices we have - focusing on iPad Pro). If you do a google search for the best styluses for the iPad Pro, you will find that each list has 3 styluses in common. They all rate the Apple Pencil first. They all include the 53 digital stylus pencil, and they all list the cosmonaut.They fill in their other ratings with active styluses like the heiyo active stylus, and other styluses that require a charged batter and or a Bluetooth connection.I have gone through them all. It did not take long to realize that capacitative styluses are far superior to active styluses. I was conflicted about the cosmonaut as 25.00 for a capacitative stylus seems excessive. I love the way it feels, handles, and writes. I think my daughters will enjoy it also. It is thick and good for little hands. I’ll end up with more of these.If you are looking for a styluse that will not only be fantastic for handwriting and art but also run your tablet smoothly, look no further. The Cosmonaut is the best out there.

This is a great stylus and I have been constantly using it for 4 months with no problems. I use it for writing, drawing, and playing certain games. I tried cheaper styli that come in the 3-packs, but those ripped too easily and didn't last longer than a few weeks. It was about time I invest more into a better product. I think Studio Neat's concept of creating a stylus similar to a dry erase marker was ingenious because indeed writing on an iPad is not like writing on paper. I personally like the weight of the stylus, but others may find it heavy. You do have to apply some pressure for the iPad to register, but it still glides nicely on the screen. Since the stylus is pretty big(size comparable to dry erase marker), it is hard to write small and also the grip has a nice feeling to it, but easily attracts dust.I did consider other styli such as Adonit Jot(seems like replaceable disk at the tip can easily be lost), Applydea Maglus(oddly shaped), and Wacom Bamboo(the tip was soft like previous stylus I owned). However, I think the Cosmonaut better fits my needs. I tend to be pretty abusive with my belongings and it is holding up really well. I have mixed feelings on how to rate this pen. I bought this pen along with an Adonit Pro because I could not make up my mind between the two. I can honestly say this has become my favorite within the first use. I have smaller hands, but the big chunky pen is so perfect. It's very well balanced and overall feels great in the hand. I have no fear of the soft tip scratching the surface of my tablet.Now for the dig. Although I love this pen, I feel it's extremely overpriced for what it is. I paid $25. It's basically a metal core wrapped in foam padding with a soft plastic tip. The actual quality of craftsmanship is top notch, but quite expensive. Way to pricey for a rubber crayon thingy. But regardless of the price, I personally found this to be the most responsive experience of basic pens. When compared to fancier pens...ahem....the Adonit....I'll confess that this seems to be better in all areas.Don't be put off by the large chunky look. This pen is a natural in the hand. My final gripe is really a gripe against all stylus. If you're like me and bought a stylus to "enhance" the touch experience over using a finger, then you'll be disappointed. The reason I bought both the Adonit Pro and the Cosmonaut is that I choose two of the most revered pens. I figured I could not go wrong if I bought both. From usage, neither are as responsive or easy to use as a finger. So as a final comment, although I find the Cosmonaut to be the best by far, it's really quite overpriced and won't enhance your touch experience. This from the perspective of an average user and not an artist.

When I initially got this product, it worked great on my iPad 2. I love the form factor. I bought the iPad Air, and was super bummed to realize it hardly works at all on that screen. I have been storing it on my desk in a magnetic container used to store paperclips. I realize that the core of the Cosmonaut is made of aluminum, so it shouldn't matter. For some odd reason I t doesn't work as well on the iPad 2 now either. The tip shows almost no signs of wear. I'm wondering if other people have had this problem as well or if someone from Studio Neat could explain what is happening.If I'm doing something wrong, or if there's an explanation, I would be happy to change my rating. I'm a native Portlander and I would love to support a locally based company, but i can't give misleading reviews.Update: while researching stylus options for the iPad Air, I have learned that many people are having major issues with different stylus that worked well on past model iPads no longer working on the Air. I have amended my rating to reflect this, as no company should be expected to be able to make a product that will be useful on technology that doesn't exist yet. Studio Neat is a good company, and I didn't say enough about how much I liked the product initially, right down to the packaging.Apple changed their screen sensitivity on the Air, but it works with a finger, which is all they promise it will do. It also wasn't Studio Neat's problem or responsibility, since they were tonly making a product for older iPads. It's still a bummer that mine isn't working like it used to, but perhaps the rubber nib got stretched out? or it was coated with something and it wore off? I may try ordering a new nib, if they sell them, to see if that changes anything for how it works with my iPad 2. For Air users, you may be out of luck unless Apple has a trick up their sleeve in a software fix? Or Studio Neat has a softer (?) replacement nib that works with the Air?Update #2: I was contacted by the company (Studio Neat) and asked to send an email regarding my issue. I should have given them the chance to resolve my issue before posting a negative review. I forgot some companies care enough about individual customer care enough to burn a calorie dealing with the people who purchase their products. I've been down that road a few times in the past and it didn't occur to me to give them a chance. I explained my issue and got a reply the same day requesting my address.A week later I received a new tip for my stylus. It was a bit harder and smoother than the previous one. I switched them out and the difference was immediate. It actually works! This thing works better than it ever did before. I love the form factor. Small hands may or may not agree, but I have big hands and this feels perfect.The only criticism I have now is that the eraser doesn't work very well (I'm kidding!)

This was the first stylus I bought after getting an IPad. I loved the design aesthetic and simplicity. It came in some cool packaging too. The stylus worked great for a month or so, but as happens with all rubber styluses, the tip began to wear out. It started becoming hard to maneuver it across my Ipad screen and really affected my note taking abilities. I think you can buy replacement tips from the company, but I couldn't find where from looking around their website.. The stylus is a really nice weight (some styluses out there are so light, they are awkward to use!) and fits great in my hand (average size female) I do love the company and the other products they offer. I switched to a microfiber stylus for longevity, ease of note taking, and the need to be able to write/draw to a finer degree. Though, since I'm out of school and not taking a ton of notes, I might consider switching back to this stylus.

This stylus is UNBELIEVABLE!The brief summary would be that it does 2 major things completely different from any other stylus I have used. It's comfortable and it glides effortlessly across the tablet.1. Writing experience - Writing with the Cosmonaut is unlike any other stylus. (I have used 3 other styli by big name branded companies)My experience with those previous devices was a kin to 'dragging' the stylus across the screen or 'pushing' it up the screen. This cosmonaut just glides. There is no friction in changing direction so it makes handwriting very easy. Messing around in skitch, I wrote my signature super quick and it actually looked better than my pen\paper signature.2. Size & feel - The cosmonaut fits nicely in my hand... it is sort of like a whiteboard marker but the material is softer and 'grippier', unlike the plastic marker so I don't have to squeeze it as tough as a whiteboard marker.With the combination of 1 & 2, I don't have to anchor my palm on the tablet to write or draw. And I don't have to hold it super low like a pen, so I have had ZERO accidental hand registers.I have to say that I am absolutely impressed with this product and extremely satisfied with my purchase.and if you read this long, here is some extra subjective bonus review:I also really like their website [...] and how they helped me 'get to know' them and their product before I bought it. Brilliant. I love the weight of the stylus—no pressure is needed. The size is great for those who have difficulties holding smaller ones. I keep it in the packaging that it comes in.

Since getting my tablet I have messed around with sketching apps and things like Bamboo for note taking but never really got on with them, mainly due to the stylus I was trying at the time. I got close to good with the Wacom bamboo stylus but it still didn't leave me satisfied with the results...my cursive writing didn't look much more than a scrawl and sketches were nothing special...the accuracy wasn't there and the soft spongy rubber tips drove me mad! After spending some time researching on line I thought I would try the Cosmonaut. Its simplicity appealed and while it looked bulky, I liked the idea of a firmer tip and a more robust stylus.I have to say I am instantly hooked! It is comfortable to hold and feels more natural than a normal slim stylus. It makes me want to sketch and doodle for hours, and despite what you might think given its size, it is amazingly accurate. I find my handwritting is much improved on the bamboo app, drawing is easy in Sketch pro, no skipping or jerking, very very little lag if at all. No aching hands after a while. Contrary to some users I also found I didnt need to press harder than normal, in fact I normay have a light touch when it comes to writing but no problem here at all. It is also perfectly possible to do very fine detail work with it, whatever you may think. As long as your app allows you to adjust line weight, you can be as fine you want to be with it.It is robust and not lightweight but i don't find that a disadvantage, I prefer that extra bit of weight over the lighter slimmer stylus. It feels solid and i'm not afraid it might break if I throw it down or stick it in my pocket.In fact I am so impressed by this that I think I will have to buy a second one just in case I loose this one! Well done Studio Neat, this is a superb tool to use and I am very impressed indeed. And you know...there is something just so pleasurable about using a stylus that reminds you of a crayon... even if works like a fine liner pen!!!

Just Mobile AluPenを以前から使っており使い心地も良いのですが、今回はデザイン重視で購入をさせてもらいました。Just Mobileとの違いはCosmonautの方が太く少し重い感じがします。また、反応はjust Mobileの方が上ですが先端の部分の空洞はCosmonautの方が少なく中にある部品の部分が当たる感触があります。使い始めた時より、少し使い込んだ方が反応が良くなったような気がします。なにより、ラバーの様な感触とデザインの良さなどを考えると少し値段は高いですが、相応の商品と感じています。ちなみに全体的に太いため文字などを書くときに少し使いにくさを感じますがある程度でなれると思いますし、使い分けなどで対応すればよいと思っています。

Der Cosmonaut ist für mich ein perfekter Begleiter. Ich verwende es für die Bedienung meiner Nexus 7. Es liegt wunderbar in meiner Hand, es fühlt sich nicht nur gut an sondern vermittelt auch ein schönes Gefühl von Wertigkeit. Ja, es ist größer als die meisten andere stifte aber genau darin liegt wohl das Geheimnis. Zugegeben, ich musste mich erst an dem Umgang damit gewöhnen doch inzwischen bin ich von dem Produkt restlos überzeugt und würde es jedem der nicht mit den Fingern arbeiten möchte ans Herz legen.Was die Bedienung angeht so kann ich berichten dass es mit jedem anderen Stift aufnehmen kann. Die Spitze gleitet wunderbar über die Glasfläche und es ist ein Vergnügen damit zu arbeiten.Ich verwende es für:- Bedienung der Nexus 7- Internet- Mails- Schreiben von Hand- Schreiben mit der Tastatur- Zeichnen- Skizzen- Notizen- MindmappingAlles geht ohne Mühe vonstatten und ist für mich sehr viel besser als mit den Fingern arbeiten zu müssen. Will man die Funktionen des Nexus verwenden für das man zwei Finger benötigt muss man den Stift beiseitelegen denn dafür ist es nicht gedacht, stellt aber keine Hürde dar.Was man damit nicht machen sollte ist, die Spitze über den Kopf oder Gesicht zu streichen. Es nimmt dann Hautfett auf und verteilt diese sehr schön sichtbar auf dem Glass. Das ist allerdings etwas was ich bei jedem anderen Stift ebenfalls bemerkt habe. Tut man dies also nicht dann bleibt das Glass wesentlich länger sauber.Was mir außerdem noch sehr gefiel ist die Verpackung. Sie ist einerseits im Retrostil der 50er und anderseits minimalistisch. Das Produkt passt perfekt hinein. Es wird das Produkt transportiert und nicht massenhaft luft.In anbetracht dessen kann es nur 5 Sterne geben. Wären mehr möglich würde es von mir stets die höchste Punktzahl erhalten.
