Okay so since I didn't know the answer I had Google Smoogle this, but I went to the company site and chatted here is their response the Gochugaru peppers are sourced from Mexico, and they do not source from China. I do have screen shots but can't post them. The product is the best I have ever used.

I am so sorry. The answer I gave about sodium content was for another brand that tasted very salty. I had just recently purchased this brand which does not contain any salt. Again I apologize.
