I've been playing the violin now for a year and a half and have been using rosin that was recommended by the local music store. I reasoned that the rosin I was using was in part causing me to play poorly, the rosin would build up in clumps on the strings causing a scratchy sound. So in a search of the internet I came across Sartory Rosin as being highly recommended. I have to say it made a huge difference in the sound quality. The Sartory rosin has a very fine grit that made my fiddle sound consistently smooth with a rich tone. I've still got a long way to go learning the fiddle but a least I can take rosin off my list of excuses as to why I'm not doing as well as I'd like.

Very nice rosin.
Without a doubt, this Sartory Rosin is the best rosin that I have used so far. I'm using it on my CODA Diamond NX violin bow, and only have good things to say about it.

Second purchase
Saw a few reviews where it arrived old and broken thus unusable. Initially purchased the first one 3 months ago on a recommendation from a teacher to try to get that "PUH" sound back that I had with the bow properly gripping the stings. Once I used this it returned. Bought a second one so I have another for travel and it came as pristine as the first. No issues with broken or old. Will likely buy another as I practice more and go through rosin. Really happy with this since its a bit cheaper than what I have used in the past when I was younger and playing in a community orchestra.

LOVE this rosin
LOVE this rosin! It works well for cellos, violins and violas - important because all 3 are in constant use in the house. So you can leave a block of this on the table in the practice room for super convenience. The casing is not only quite attractive, but sturdy as well. Although do take care not to be overconfident in it - putting it in a case pocket with other hard objects can cause issues.

Honestly after trouble with my daughter’s bow and all the dust….i researched on YouTube and came across this one…while on pricey side…it worked so well and the sound was noticeable on her cello
