Handy Adapter Cable for General Motors OBD1 Systems (circa 1980-1995)
It's hard to say much about this short 16-inch adapter cable, but I'll try to give it my best effort. I wasn't able to test its functionality because I didn't have an OBD1 General Motors (GM) vehicle available to test, but the connection to my older OBD2 tester mated well. As I recall, Ford's OBD1 implementation is different from GM's implementation so this adapter is applicable to GM vehicles only. The Ford connector is an entirely different shape from the GM connector. The adapter cable OBD1 connector end was of comparable quality to the OBD2 end with straight pins and a smooth finish to the plastic connector body. The cabling between the two connectors is secured tightly in each connector housing which should make it robust enough for routine use. Like all cables, I wouldn't disconnect it by pulling on the cable - always pull on the connector body. I ordered this adapter because I like to drive (and therefor repair) vintage automobiles. Now vintage automobiles are creeping into the 1980s and early 1990s when OBD1 systems were prevalent. My basic OBD2 tester has served me well for many years and by adding this OBD1 adapter cable, it will continue to be a trusted tool in my shop. I hope to get an opportunity to test its functionality with my basic tester and my new OBD2 tester.

Perfect fit, works as intended
Works as intended, adapter between obd1 and obd2 for code scanner. A lot easier than having to buy a different code reader. Good quality made adapter, no complaints.
