The Mastering Engineer's Handbook 5th Edition

I have been working with audio since around 1968. During that time, Bobby Owsinski has been a source of very useful information. I have purchased some of his courses and most of his books. Bobby explains things step by step and in easy to understand terms. He has a wide experience and numerous relationships with leading audio engineers and has received from many of them the tips and tricks they have developed.

Well written. Covers a lot of ground with a good balance of technique and philosophy. Will get beginners started and will remind pros of the basics we often take for granted.

Some excellent information, both in the author's text and in the interviews with Engineers.

This book right here appears to be very promising, and I look forward into purchasing the other editions. You're never too old or professional to learn more, and hopefully these books will aid me in my productions to be even better skilled than I am right now as not only as a mastering engineer, but also as a producer as well. This is where everything tappers off the ground..... Learning. Truly appreciate this one. This book is a must have for anyone that's in the music production field no matter your task in the studio. I been doing this stuff since 2009, and again I say that you are never too old or professional to learn more.

Great source of knowledge

Bobby has written a number of books and I have them all. He's great at breaking complex issues down into understandable tasks. I highly recommend this book and check out his other books too!

Great book to learn mastering your audio productions. If you are new to this, it's must buy. If you think you already know it all, still buy it, because I assure you, you don't know it all, at all.

Very thorough and also very readable. Covers all areas of mastering as well as the plug-ins

Lots of useful information (if you don't have an earlier version), but it is almost out of date already, and lacks quite a lot of current trends and approaches. I bought the 2nd edition a while back and much of the book is the same :( I was hoping for something more indepth! Some approaches to mastering are completely absent. Yes, I was disappointed. This feels very much like a "cash grab", I mean the man has a reputation, or did have. There must be a limit to the number of times you can re-hash the same info to try to get more money off folk. If I could send it back I would.
