Very Pure Original strong original flavour totally worth the buy...!! I could see the strands stand intact, beautiful, trumpet shaped, still giving out the golden colour after many hours of soaking it in warm water.. Feeling very happy that I have bought a very genuine product. I have been using different brands of Saffron for a decade now and this is THE BEST EVER one..!! Totally worth the buy because I myself do not compromise with quality.. Totally happy, the packaging should not be in transparent plastic boxes because saffron reacts to light and loses its strength in the long run but they have smartly packed the box in black press loc pouches 😊 still they can make the box itself dark coloured or black opaque materials. And so 4 star for packaging otherwise a total 5 star product. Well done Shalimar brand for bringing in the Best original natural Kashmir Mogra saffron..!!

I was a bit unsure about how genuine saffron sold in India would be, but this product is the real deal. This is how I checked: 1. Saffron should smeel sweet, like honey 2. The taste, however, should NOT be sweet - it should be slightly bitter 3. The colour of the strands should be a deep red 4. When you drop some strands of saffron in water and wait a few minutes, it should start to colour the water yellow, not red. The longer you leave the saffron in the water, the darker the colour gets, but its always yellow, never red (if its red it means an artifical dye has been used) 5. Even after hours of of leaving the strands in water, they still remain red. I kept them for a whole day, and they still remained red. Its only after 2 days that they started losing a bit of colour - but not completely. 6. After a full day of soaking in water, the strands are still strong. They do not disintegrate if you pick them up and rub them on your fingers. 7. Just 4 or 5 strands are enough to give a litre of water a nice yellow colour like a sherbet! The product passed all of these tests. Very happy, and shall buy again. I also noticed that there were no yellow strands in the bottle. As saffron is so expensive, some companies mix a few yellow strands with the red ones, because even a few yellow strands in each bottle can make them a lot of extra money. The yellow strands, while part of the same flowers, are not kesar. Go ahead and buy without hesitation. This is the real deal.

I have used it twice from the time it arrived. Also, like just a day before I purchased 'Baby Saffron' from a local store. SO I guess I have more bandwidth here to compare. Some of the strands are less darker and has an occasional yellowish tinge as compared. But the fragrance is good. When I added it to the milk, the color released was also satisfactory. I have no complains with the product. IT seems of a decent quality. It's just that when you have two brands at hand then you can expect yourself to become a scientist and take the liberty to compare each saffron strand. Sometimes while doing that, you earn more knowledge about how saffron can differ in quality. 5gms is a pretty good quantity. It's going to last me quite a bit. Thank you Seller. Thank you Amazon.

The product came in an black plastic zip lock pouch which was bubble wrapped. Well packed! The quality of the saffron is nice. The strands are neither too dry (as some brands that overly mature the spice) nor too luscious; just perfect.. The way a saffron strand is supposed to be. I am consuming it everyday since the last two weeks (Soaked overnight in water with resins) and I am completely satisfied. It has a delectable aroma and taste. The strands are long and leave a lovely sunset yellow stain.
