The Funky Fresh Juice Book

If you are new to juicing, or an old pro - you will enjoy this book. It is a beautiful hardcover book, with 270+ pages of valuable information. Each juice recipe has a full page gorgeous picture of the final result along with facts and information about the nutrients you will be consuming in your delicious juice. It seriously looks like they had a lot of fun putting the book together, and you can feel that joy as you thumb through the pages. There are juice & smoothie recipes, recipes from the juicy online community (telling their success stories as well, very inspiring), recipes from celebrities, recipes for people who work out a lot, or need to juice for medical reasons, kids juices and smoothies, etc. etc. I could go on and on. I've already tried so many of the recipes and I've loved each one! My favorite this week is the Fab Four: YUM. I found Jason Vale in the app store; I used his loose 7 lbs. in 7 days juice program and it was so easy and delicious. (and I lost 12 lbs. in 7 days! Yay!). So I knew this book would be equally as useful to me. It's a beautiful book, easy to make recipes that make you HEALTHY. Don't hesitate to get it. It's worth every penny, and then some. I'm going to be giving it as gifts to my friends and family - it's that special.

This book is very colorful and makes you want to read it - eye candy. The recipes are delicious! There are more combo recipes that include part juicing and blender, but that is what makes this book unique from other juicing books. I also like the fact that it includes personal recipes form real people as well as the author with variations tried etc. This book is not full of pages on health nutrition facts about each vegetable or fruit - like other juicing books I have - which I like. It has tidbits of info next to the recipe on benefits, nutrients and such which I like. Most of the pages are recipes with pictures which I love. Other juice books are full of informational chapters with a few recipes at the end of each chapter, which I am tired of, just wanted an easy juicing/smoothie recipe book that is just that - recipes. My only complaint is that the author is English/British? and the publisher did a bad job editing for the American population some sentences do not flow correctly, with missing words and punctuation. Wish it came in paperback as well. Would still recommend this book to anyone who wants a whimsical juicing book full of eye pleasing pictures and great tasting recipes.

I tried most of the recipes and they were all good, some better than others - delicious. I did a rough count - about 100 recipes in all. There are about 30 plus recipes that require just the use of the juicer and a handful that are plain smoothies that require just the blender. Yes some of the recipes do require juicing and then blending - about 60 +. I did not find this such a big deal. Some fruits like melon and avocados are better blended in than juiced, obviously. These blended juices (for want of a better word) are very filling. The pictures - absolute eye candy, they look so appealing and entice you to try the recipes. I have tried about 40 of the recipes and they were all good. I have my Breville juicer,Vitamix and Citrus juicer next to each other on the counter. I do not find the cleaning so much of a chore. I have a system now that works efficiently and has become second nature. Line the pulp bin with a bag, run some warm water through the chute after juicing while you keep the juicer running. Likewise, add some warm water to your blender jar, add a drop of dish soap and run your blender. Then clean both. Cleans efficiently and quickly - not more than 10 minutes max to clean both juicer and blender. Who said being healthy was as easy as fast food at the local Golden Arch??

I have been juicing for over 20 years and have all of Jason Vale's books. I continually try to educate myself and never feel that I have it all figured out or have all the knowledge available on a subject. I have trained for over 30 years and in spite of my long run with exercise and nutrition, one can ALWAYS learn something new. Jason's enthusiasm is contagious, he is passionate about juicing, nutrition, and life...this shines through every book he has written. I highly recommend all of Jason's books.

This is a great, inspiring and eye catching book done in a nice format where you can read a bit about juicing in general and a little more about each recipe. I keep it in my recipe book stand when I'm juicing a lot because it keeps "my head in the game" so to speak. It's got a pretty diverse range of recipes so anyone is bound to find multiple "go to" juices in it.

This book is wonderful. It gives you the break down of many different types of juices for all types of aliments one may suffer from. It is very easy to use. It has juices for acne to cold and flu. It gives you calories count. Clear photos of each juice. It's a great book to have. You will not be disappointed in purchasing this book. I highly recommend this book.

This is just what I wanted. It was helpful to be able to preview on this site before purchasing. I like the explanatory notes that he includes with the recipes, such as nutritional benefits for particular ingredients, why certain items work well together, etc. Hard to find a nice hard back juicer book! I am happy with this one.

I bought this book after following Jason's 5:2 Juice Diet. And it's true, 100 delicious sounding juice/smoothie recipes with snappy, descriptive text and great photographs. I love how he includes the nutritional benefits of various ingredients. The big drawback for me is the lack of an index. If you have a fridge full of apples you want to use up, you can't just look up "apples" and find your recipes. We started juicing primarily as a dietary way to treat my husband's hypertension so I was hoping to to find all the recipes that include beets, for example. With no index I am forced to read through every page, searching the ingredient lists, which takes way too much time! That's why the 4 star rating.

I found Jason Vale's 5lbs in 5 days detox online somehow and decided to try that. I lost 7 lbs in the 5 days but fell in love with juicing. I definitely wasn't eating my fruits/veg per day. I was lucky to get 1 fruit and probably 2-3 veg in a normal day. Now my normal breakfast is a turbo juice in the morning and it has 2 apples, 1/3 pineapple, spinach, cucumber, celery, ginger, and my newfound favourite thing....avocado!!! I have this almost daily for breakfast and at least one other juice/smootie per day sometimes 2 others and I am now down 12 pounds in 1 month, feel terrific and loving it. There are some great kid friendly juices to get them started as well....we no longer buy store bought juice or smoothies. I have since purchased Jasons Juice yourself Slim also.....he is the greatest.

If you are new to juicing this book has lots of recipes that you can follow. Have tried loads of them and they are very nice and easy to do. Easy to adapt to your own tastes and contents of your fridge, too! I love this book, especially the laid back style of writing. There are no intimidating ingredients that you have never heard of and don't know what to do with anyway. Everything is explained very simply. Thoroughly recommend it and think the price is very affordable. Haven't found anything better, and now I have this book I don't need to!

I own about 12 juice recipe book and this is by far the best. If you can only buy one, this is the best one to get. I have been juicing and making green smoothies for years and I still found many new combinations of juicing and smoothies I had never considered in this book. There is a mixture of juice and smoothie recipes with something for everyone. It is also very inspirational with celebrities and real people sharing their stories and favorite juices. The hardcover book is absolutely beautiful!! It is very high quality with amazing photos. You will want to open and use it all the time. Anyone who follows Jason Vale will know that he is the world's top expert in juicing and these recipes are not only nutritious but actually taste good.

A great followup or starter book to juicing if you've never done it before! First time juicers this is an awesome book, others who do it already, this is a great "treat" to change up existing juicing knowledge and recipes! Keeps it fun!
