How big is the belt? Will it be to big for an adult on the bigger side

It will accommodate many sizes. It covers a very large rage. I use it for teen girls during pitching lessons, and it covers my 33" waist with ability to go much larger.

If I were to attach this to a 200 max lb sled for extra resistance, would I break the cable?
