Working like a charm. Keeps my battery charged

I picked this Solar Charger up during Amazon's Memorial Day sale and so far it works as described. As anyone knows, a project vehicle can take a long time to complete but knowing my battery remains charged and ready to go when I finally fire up my project gives me peace of mind. Having a good battery is now one less thing I have to worry about!

First solar panel I received was cracked (hence the "4" rating); however, the second panel arrived intact. I use the solar battery charger to keep my Harley battery charged within an enclosed trailer. I connected the charger to my battery via use of a Schumacher EC-25 25' Cable Connector Extension Cord (through a connector I mounted on the side of the trailer housing) and Schumacher WM-12 12" Cable Connector for Battery Charger/Maintainer. If you use the Schumacher battery connection harnesses and just plug everything in "as is", polarity will be reversed at the battery and the battery charger circuitry will cut-out (electrically isolates from the battery)...the blue LED on the charger will not illuminate when it's connected to the battery (since polarity is reversed). Once I used a multimeter to identify and correct the reversed polarity, the blue LED on the solar panel illuminated and the battery charger now keeps my battery fully charged. Several people have commented on the reverse polarity issue...add me to the list! I also connected a voltage regulator/charger controller between the solar panel and my battery because the solar charger output varies so dramatically (0 volts to 24+ volts under full sunlight conditions). I wasn't comfortable with "double voltage" reaching my battery, although I've read the controller isn't required for such a low wattage solar charging system (I opted for overkill for my own peace of mind). I also didn't trust the suction cup mounts to secure the solar panel to the side of my trailer...I installed bolts/wingnuts for the top mounts and let the bottom of the panel rest on 2 suction cups (since they don't bear any weight/load). It's still very easy to remove from the trailer for road trips.

I bought this panel and the Zeallife Solar controller at the same time because of other reviewers problem with charging their vehicles with this solar panel. Just got everything hooked up today on a bright sunny day to my vehicle and was using the 12V DC Plug to go to the battery. I only got a reading through the Zeallife Solar controller for about 1 to 2 seconds. I wiggled the 12V DC plug near the plug and the current reading went on and off. I took the 12v DC Plug apart and found the negative wire was not soldered onto the medal at all. The panel does seem to be working well though. Just wished there was better quality control with the included items to help charge the battery. Just need a replacement for the 12V DC plug and not the whole panel kit. POWOXI just contacted me several day later after I support this problem to their customer support. POWOXI is sending a replacement for the defective 12V DC Plug for the solar panel kit. They do have great customer support and are willing to help. I will be getting another solar panel from them soon for my other vehicle.

Purchased two of these and was NOT disappointed. I placed them in two of my vehicles that sit outside in the upper northern area of WI, and the weather takes a toll on cars that sit out side. These units stood up to the -30 deg F very well. Prior to using them I’d have to start the cars every two days and let them run to charge the batteries as there location was to far for a trickle charger to be used. These did the job very well. Extremely cold weather sitting for two weeks, I’d have a hard time starting the V8 with any battery left out that long, not with these units, plenty of cranking power as if you just dropped in a new battery full charged and ready to work. Charges on cloudy days as well, just not full power. I am going to purchase a few more for my family to use....good product and rather strongly built.

very disappointed, set it up on a vehicle i use rarely, drove the car , parked it for a week, it seemed to be charging and the battery was fine, but after a week, tried to start car and nothing, and i mean nothing, i have never had a battery so flat that even the ignition lights did not glow before now, i can only assume that the reverse diode is not working and is draining the battery when the sun goes down, thus rendering the unit is useless.

Tapping the sun to trickle charge my riding mower battery makes sense. The storage shed I use does not have electricity so this is a cost saving alternative. Quality device with multiple ways to connect items being charged. This works on my generator as well. Keeping the battery topped off waiting for the next hurricane!

i’ve had this for over a month now. I was using it on a car I drive in frequently. I had it plugged into the cigarette lighter which I can confirm does receive power when the vehicle is off. After a week and a half the battery is dead. And that’s with getting good light direct all day long. It may work for some people, and it may work connected to the actual battery, but not in my situation connected to the lighter. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Seems to charge well, hopefully put it on my old tractor for a day, next day she fired up pretty good and usually the battery is quite low from sitting

Easy to install, inside or outside your vehicle and you can either clip it onto your battery terminals or in your cigarette lighter (if your vehicle has one). A day after the panel arrived I received an email via Amazon from the manufacturer Thanking for buying their product restating installation instruction and giving hints and tips on getting the best out of the device. Been very useful during the lockdown and an idle car.
