Awsome!
These poles work great if you know how to anchor them properly. We have 3 of these poles and after a full summer and fall of camping they show very little wear. No rust on them and we store them on our patio all winter in the rain! These poles have totally outlasted the heavy duty idustrial tarp we got to go with them. The locking rings did bend a bit the first time we set up our shelter but that turned out to be a good thing. With that little bend they actually stay telescoped out with no problem at all! The trick with any shelter is knowing how to set it up the right way. When there are higher winds add more anchor lines! Lots of rain, you need a peak in your roof so the rain dosnt gather and pull your shelter in on itself. Overall we love these tarp poles! They are a wonderfully useful addition to our camping gear!

needed some repair
They are great for setting up your camp tarp. However some of the stamped rivits needed to be repaired with small pan head bolts and self locking nuts. Several of the rivits poped out during assembly. Inspect carefully before first usage.

Waste of money.
Pole is sturdy, but I had to bend each clip myself, since they weren't angled correctly, and the poles would not work. Since I have bent and messed with all the clips, the poles seem to be working alright.UPDATE:After bending each locking tab, the poles seemed to work, until a little pressure was applied. The slip rings kept sliding, so I epoxied the rings in place. Now the metal rod that holds the locking tabs keep bending and releasing the tabs. The poles will not hold. I am trying to use the poles to hold a light tarp in place for shade, but the poles can't handle the weight of a light 10 X 12 canvas tarp. Extremely disappointed. I think that the only option to make these poles work is to drill holes through the poles, and buy some cotter pins. I could have done this with material from a local hardware store, for less money, and MUCH less aggravation.

Affordable and works.
It's affordable and it works... It will rust if it's rained on (which since I use it for a rain tarp, it will). This is our 2nd one and we're still using the first one which we've had for several years - although it needs some sanding or something to help it slide up and down since it's rusty.

Well worth the money
I bought 4 poles for camping to hold up tarps at our campsites. We've used them once so far, and I have no complaints. They expand to 8ft, are sturdy, and held up well in the windy conditions we had. Compared to other poles I have purchased in the past, these are of much better quality. I was surprised by the HUGE box they arrived in, but this has no bearing on the pole quality.

Must have for camping!
These poles are a must for any campsite. They make putting up temporary shelters easy with a little bit of rope or twine. This is my second set. I have an old set that I have used for 10 years. The new poles are in 3 sections and are easier to pack than my old 2 section poles..

This is the best pole to use on older wall tents
This style of pole is very hard to find now anywhere. I have a military wall tent and these poles are what I am using to replace older poles as the fail.

I guess I got a dud this time.
I've purchased several of these in the past, but this last one didn't work. It wouldn't 'hold' when telescoped out. It made things challenging when setting up a camping tarp, because I was short a pole. Unfortunately, I recycled the box it came in right after I got it, and I didn't use it right away, so returning it was more of a challenge than I was up for.
