You got to have it!
I thought that my first Pelsee P12 Plus is good enough, but then when I read about the upgraded version, Pelsee P12 Pro Max, I was hesitant because it’s quite pricey, so I decided to go for it and I’m so glad i did and it’s worth it. The clarity of the front camera (4K) and the rear camera (2.5K) is just unbelievably sharp.. It’s also straight forward to install and connect all the wires, but I have to let the professional technician to connect the red wire to the backup light. It cost me $20. The big plus is the 160 degrees vision on the rear camera which is for me a good safety features that eliminates blind spots. Another feature that I love is driving at night, the front and rear vision is so sharp and even in pitch black, just the from the car's headlights, it illuminates the road and not grainy at all. If you’re looking for a high quality dash cam, this is it! I highly recommend it.

No-compromise solution for front+rear dash cam and retrofitting digital rear view mirror capability
I've had multiple Pelsee mirror dash cams, from P10 Plus to P12 Pro, as well as S12 Pro, and the P12 Pro Max is the nicest one, accurately reflected by the premium price point. I have a modified Jeep Wrangler. The factory rear view mirror was useless, to say the least, because of the oversized spare tire consuming majority of the rear windshield. Digital rear view mirror displays like this one helps immensely. They have such wide viewing angle that they significantly reduce blindspots. The first unit I installed for the Wrangler was the P10 Plus, and after a short period time I had them installed on all of my family's vehicles because of how beneficial they are. P12 Pro Max's front camera has the 2nd gen Starvis sensor, while the rear camera has the 1st gen. The front video feed is great, and it's also nice to have the rear video feed in full color even during nighttime, as opposed to grayscale of the older models. The rear camera of the P12 Pro Max is slightly larger and heavier than the rear cameras of other Pelsee models without Starvis sensor. While it would be nice to have Starvis 2 in the rear camera as well, the P12 Pro Max's overall offering is strong enough that it really doesn't matter. And then there are the potential drawbacks to consider, due to increased power and heat dissipation requirement for Starvis 2 compared to Starvis 1 from the supporting system (e.g. - processor, power management, etc), which may end up in rear camera module becoming even larger. P12 Pro Max isn't compatible with bracket mounts for the old P12 Pro. I suspect part of the reason is because the P12 Pro Max has a heatsink plate on the back. You can see it in the item photo--it's the silver plate. That plate gets pretty toasty when the unit is running, especially on a sunny day without air conditioning on. While I didn't have any issue with it overheating, I did eventually perform a proactive modification by using thermal glue to put 2280 SSD heatsink on it, as well as putting a 40x40x20mm fan on the bracket pulling air out, to give it some additional heat dissipation. The included rear camera cable is 33 feet in length. P12 Pro Max uses a USB-C to 6-pin video cable, as opposed to the 3.5mm to 4-pin video cable of the older model. This means you can use an appropriate USB-C extension cable to lengthen the wiring if you need to, which simplifies the installation quite a bit if you have a larger vehicle such as an RV. I tried this using a 10-foot USB-C extension cable that can carry both power and data, and it worked fine. If that's not your cup of tea, then you can get the 6-pin extension cable such as ASIN B07B6LBGZ9. The box comes with two different methods of powering the unit--the 12V cigarette port to 5V USB-C, as well as the OBD2 to 5V USB-C. You can opt to not use either of them. The included OBD2 kit provides 5VDC-3A output, with the unit's power input requirement being 5VDC-2.5A. I was able to use one of the Quick Charge port of the 12V cigarette port splitter to power the unit. The OBD2 kit is apparently meant to be used if you want to enable parking mode, but the caveat is that some vehicles (including the ones I own) don't keep their OBD2 port live upon entering deep sleep. You should also be able to use one of those converters that plugs into auto-dimming rear view mirror connector to convert it into a USB port to power this, provided it meets the power requirement, if you want a clean install and plan on getting rid of the factory rear view mirror. If you want a package that combines both digital rear view mirror capability and excellent front and rear low-light capability, then the P12 Pro Max is something you should consider.

Nice camera
I have only had the camera for around a month now and really like it. There easy to set up. The appearance is good( looks like a rear view mirror). Easy to see out of when screen is off. Rear camera is nice and clear and picks up passing cars to let you know. If you hook it up to reverse lights it works as a second back up camera. Audio is clear and perfect. It has decent stability. I mean for it being attached to the mirror. It does have a little vibration to it. The direct connection cable is great for power. Easy to install with out going through the fuse box. Their customer service is great. Had a little hiccup and reached out by email and got a quick response. They also did a follow up email to make sure everything was going good.

useful smart features
I’m honestly very impressed. The Sony lens really lives up to its reputation — the video quality is super clear both during the day and at night. License plates and road details are easy to see, which is exactly what you want from a high-end dash cam. This isn’t just a basic recorder either. It comes with a lot of useful smart features. One of my favorites is the ADAS lane departure warning. This is usually something you only get in newer cars, but my car is a 2016 model and doesn’t have any of those safety features. With this dash cam installed, it honestly feels like I added a small tech upgrade package to my old car. The OBD hardwire connection is also a nice bonus. It’s a newer and more convenient solution compared to traditional hardwiring that goes directly to the car battery. Installation was much easier and cleaner than what I’ve dealt with before. After long periods of use, the unit does get a bit warm, but nothing concerning — it doesn’t affect performance or stability at all.
