Do you know if the 39.4 inches refers to the arc span or diameter?

Hello,Thanks a lot for your message. The 39.4" refers to the diameter of the umbrella, the arc span of the umbrella is about 43".Thanks very much.Regards,Mercury_online

Does this come with any kind of warranty if it's damaged through use?

Hello B.CThanks for your message. Our umbrellas come with one year manufacturer warranty. If anything goes wrong with the umbrella within the warranty period, simply get in contact with us and we will get this sorted out for you after. Thanks,Dianne

I just received this umbrella and tested it out. I have one question though, does anyone have hard time pushing the stick back in when closing it?

We Ordered two of the umbrella's, The red one with the plastic handle is difficult to close. The black one with the wood handle does not seem to be a problem for my husband. Otherwise the construction of the umbrella is good.

what is the length of the grip?

The length of the hand grip is 3 1/2 inches. The open/close button above it 1 inch.
