P3V2-25 Punch P3 2.5" 3-Way Midrange Component Speakers

This review is specifically for Rockford Fosgate, not the Amazon seller from whom I purchased this (the merchant provided amazing shipping and a great price). The speakers themselves are fine and of good quality, I definitely got what I paid for and expected. The issue lies directly with Rockford Fosgate. I contacted them, because of my own fault, I bent the included mounting ring, as you need to break off tabs to fit your specific installation. I accidentally deformed the ring which makes seating/locking the speaker impossible. Totally my fault. I contacted RF support asking how I could BUY one (not get anything free). I was told they do not sell or supply the mounting ring separately. What? It can’t be more than a $5 bendable aluminum piece that you actually have to bend to use thus increasing the chance of deformation. While they offered to accept a return if I purchased through them, that would require a total uninstall of it all, plus sending back the used connectors etc. I will not burden the amazing retailer of this because it’s not their issue in any way. I will make a bracket myself, but I’m sure I’m not the first nor last person to break this bracket. It’s a totally separate part from the speaker, it’s not built into the speaker. I just don’t understand how a part, a bracket, can’t be available for purchase. If I bought a refrigerator and broke a shelf mounting bracket during installation, there is no doubt I could purchase a new bracket without either having to throw away the entire unit or returning it to the merchant. I take full responsibility for damaging it during installation but if I can’t make a bracket myself, it’s going on eBay with all the other junk items people can’t use anymore. I have learned an expensive lesson on trust and customer support.
