Modern functional Trash Bin
Slim modern design fits nicely in a kitchen corner. Sturdy dual containers make disposal of garbage and recycling easy in one area. Size is sufficent for 1 bag between trash pickups. This was a replacement for one purchased in 2017. You won't regret this purchase and get the special bags. Never had a bag failure.

One of My Best Purchases Ever!
I struggled for years with cheap trash cans in my kitchen. The last one was white plastic, so cheaply made that the popup mechanism on the lid broke so it opened when the front pedal was depressed but didn't close itself. Forget about being hands-free! After the cheapo can slid out from my foot and fell over, I had had enough. I jumped on Amazon to find the best trash can I possibly could, and I was successful. This trash can simply rocks. It is heavy enough to stay in place. The soft-close lid works like a charm. The pedal is heavy-duty and will last a very long time. The whole inner plastic can is easy to work with and makes removing and replacing trash bags easy. Finally, it looks amazing! I never thought that my kitchen decor would be improved by a trash can, but this one did it. It it perfect? Close. There are a couple of things that could be improved. The lid-locking sliding button on my unit cannot be put into place by opening the lid all the way with the pedal and then sliding it into the locking position. I found that I have to slightly push the lid backward for the sliding lock to go fully into place. Then when the pedal is released, the lid stays fully out of the way when trash bags are removed and replaced. I also found that traditional trash bags from the store cannot fit onto the inner trash can without seriously stretching them. It takes some muscle. It means that children and the elderly may not be able to change the trash bag if using typical tall kitchen trash bags. I took the easy way out of this situation by ordering trash bags specifically for the trash can from the manufacturer (simplehuman). Because there are quite a few of the sample bags sent with the trash can, it took me weeks to run out of them. I found them to be quite superior to everyday trash bags because they are folded and not rolled, very easy to open and use, and they appear to be more durable than conventional trash bags. I am very satisfied with the trash bags and especially the trash can. This product is clearly more expensive than other trash cans, but it is very worth the cost and quite stylish. It may be one of the only utilitarian items in your kitchen that you frequently get compliments on.

you'll feel boujie but it's a great trashcan
Once you get over the hurdle of paying this much for a trashcan, you'll be glad you did. It's way more elegant than a trashcan has any right to be, works very well, and brings effective design to something you likely use multiple times a day. Thoughts: * Lid seems to seal well, closes quietly. * You can pop the lid open part way for small trash (no need to open it all the way). * I got the stainless lid because why put a plastic lid (that'll discolor/scratch over time) on a trashcan like this? * There's some (not much) wasted space inside to fit those nicely curved containers. * Containers lift out pretty easily, but don't have handles. * Containers stand up on their own (ie, while you change bags). * Two sizes of Simplehuman bags are included (10 of each). They're extra sturdy. * Capacity is GOOD if you don't need to throw away giant things and you don't generate a lot of BOTH trash and recycling. Apart from price, there's two major drawbacks: * Custom trash bags - I don't want to deal with that. The competing Kohler uses normal kitchen (13gal) bags. I think I can use them here but there's not much space to tuck the extra material. * The smaller container fills up fast. So if you use it for recycling, it won't take many containers. If you use it for trash (I do), normal use will fill it quickly. This is sized for a home where there's not a lot of people and/or you don't generate a lot of trash. Pictured: Closed and Open under a counter lip with 35.5" clearance. Notice it fits cleanly, even open. Assuming everything holds up as well as I expect from other reviews, this is the last kitchen trashcan I'll buy for a long time, it works very well for my volume of waste, and thus it's Recommended. Even if I'm embarrassed at spending so much on a trashcan.

The Ultimate Trash Can!
The ultimate trash can! *Love that the lid closes softly - not with a bang. *The lid also has a lock to keep it open, if you need that at any time; just make sure that the lid is an inch or 2 from the wall for the lock to engage. (The lock is a small orange-colored sliding button on the right side near the hinge, when the lid is open.) * The finish is great - brushed silver that’s ionized so that it doesn’t pick up fingerprints & smudges. * The pedal works silently, and easily. * The bags are great - this model uses the Q size bags. The description shows size H, but Q is the correct size. * This trash can is sturdy & heavy in its shipping box. Open the box top, look down inside to find the pedal, then lower the box on the side that does NOT have the pedal, to a floor that has carpeting on it, and slide the can out. Set it upright. It has wheels that roll forwards & backwards. * Simple to install & remove the bags. The inner can has a tilt feature - pull it up a few inches & tilt it forward - it will stay in that position for removing the bag or installing a new one. Or, you can remove the entire inner can.

High Quality And a Stylish Garbage Can
Very good garbage can. I debated for about a year to buy this and ended up buying it because of the recommendations and I wanted something that had the recycle and garbage together. The recycle bin is larger than the one I previously had in my house, and the garbage portion is just slightly smaller than our old can. I don't use a bag for the recycle portion, and even though it fills up fast its easy to take in and out to empty it. Pros: It takes up less room than my other two bins, and it looks much better. I get compliments on the trash can when people come over and its funny to have people comment on a garbage can. It does a very good job at keeping the smell contained. I dont notice garbage smell any more when the lid is closed, when you open the lid you might smell it but once it is closed it keeps it contained very well. Its really sturdy feeling, and I like the that the clid closes quietly. Both bins are easy to take in and out and there is a small latch that clicks on and off if you need to keep the lid open. Cons: Its expensive, Im a little embarrassed to tell people how much it cost. I think a lot of people think its crazy to spend that money on a garbage can. I honestly dont know why they cost so much but I dont regret spending the money on it because it is a very nice addition to the kitchen. Im not a fan of the standard bags that come with it. They fit nice in the bin but they are too small for me and you cant fit as much trash in the bin with the bags. I like to use regular 13 g Kirkland bags from Costco because you can pack more trash in there and you dont have to use as many bags since they last longer. You do have to wrap the bag around the bin a little so it doesnt hang out but you can make it work. The garbage bin is not much smaller than the previous one I had but if you have a large garbage can it might be a con for you that it is a little smaller? If you have the money to spend on this, it is worth it. If you have a tight budget this is definitely something you can live without, its a product that is convenient and not a necessity since there are much cheaper trash cans after that.

Little pricey but worth it
Love this trash can. Simplehuman 50L/13 gal is large enough for the kitchen. Stainless is very nice n easy to clean. Can liner lifts up and tilts forward and holds up to empty and put in new bags. Q size simplehuman liners fit perfectly and strong. Lid works great. Would highly recommend. Little pricey but worth it. Get one and you won’t regret it.

Well made
Like this trash can Doesn"t move when you step on the petal to open the lid. Very well made The only thing wrong with this is the lid does not close all the way I have about 1/2 inch opening and you need to buy the trash bags. Store bought bags do not fit Still glad I purchased this trash can

It’s not money in the trash with this one!
What can someone say about a trashcan that will get people to buy it? Well, as the video shows - if it can get my teenager to throw things away, it’s worth it! 😂 Seriously, I bought the SimpleHuman trashcan because I was sick of buying subpar plastic cans that either were too small, or the lid would break after a few weeks, or it was easy for my dogs to get into. This can solved all three of those problems ✔️✔️✔️. To boot, you can pack a ton of trash in this thing. And for a family that hates taking out the trash that’s an extra added bonus! 🤘🏼We have had this trashcan for a few years now and have had zero issues. I would absolutely recommend. We are thinking about to get the composting attachment before the holidays 🍁🍁 Pros - 1. Slim design lets the can fit almost anywhere. 2. It’s not an eyesore, so you can have it anywhere. 3. Easy open engineering makes it the best companion for the always chopping chef. Cons - 1. Trash bags are expensive if you buy the brand bags. But there are plenty of dupes out there that work great. 2. The recycling side could be a bit bigger - but honestly, it’s not been a problem.
