MBA-5 Control Head Mounting Bracket with Magnets for Icom Mobile Transceiver IC-2730A IC-2730E

Magnets let the transceiver come loose. So I removed the magnets and fastened the plate to the transceiver, with the screws that held the magnets. Did not tighten too far, because of other bolt heads on the surface of the plate.

Got this backing plate mount for iCom 2730A mobile radio control head. The plate came with 2 sets of screws and 2 magnets. It's design to be use with either the suction cup mount or the dash mount that slides partially into the CD slots of the car radio. Installation was super easy and having both the 2730 and 5100 mobile radio. This mount will also work on the 5100 series radio. So stoked and happy to know that the mounting holes on the 2730 and 5100 are identical. Using this mount along with the suction for a base station where the head unit is sitting my desktop. Great product and very easy to install. Best of all it will work on the 2730 and 5100 series mobile radios from Icom.

If you are someone like me that purchased the Icom IC-2730 without realizing it comes with 0 ways to actually mount the radio, you're going to be looking for some solutions. This here is what you need for the face. You can mount this straight to a surface or you can use a RAM style ball mount with a T bracket on the back and mount it literally anywhere. The magnets mount to the back of the radio, then you stick the magnets on this metal bracket. It is the cleanest way to go if you have a 2730.
