Any Octal socket will work.
Used this to control a larger 10 amp rated relay as part of a printer protector. The time was easy to set and verify with a stop watch. Set, test, repeat, several times. The time delay seems to be very repeatable once it's been set. I wish there was an option to buy it without a socket. Wiring it was easy. One of the two internal relays is timer controlled, the other one switches as soon as power is applied. Over all a good product once you understand it's limits.

no instructions included but like the relay
I used this small relay as a start up delay for a large transfer relay. In my application, a large relay would switch between shore power to inverter power to power up a residential refrigerator in my RV while driving. I found that my inverter did not like starting up into a load and would shut down. I used this relay to add an 15 second delay between starting up and applying the load thereby allowing the inverter to come up to full power before transferring the load. This solved all my problems. It’s small and very easy to mount the base. Round knob on top of the relay adjusts the delay between 0 and 60 seconds. I mounted this relay on a vertical wall but worried that with a rough road it could bounce the relay out of its socket. I bent a piece of aluminum into an L shape and screwed the small leg of the L to the wall with screws and used double sided VHB tape to the relay body on the long side of the L. It can be removed for service but will prevent the relay from falling out of its base. Unfortunately, there is no clear instructions included with the relay for wiring or how it is configured. After looking up the relay on line, I was finally able to wire it up and it works but the manufacturer would be wise to include instructions for use. Deduct 1 star for that.

A lot of trial and error to get desired result
Took a lot of work to find the right pin combination with the wires for an off-delay (device supplies power when turned on and disconnects after timer countdown). Many images available on internet, but none worked quite right. Eventually, learned enough about all of the pins to trial and error the solution shown in the picture. Neutral to bottom left terminal; hot to bottom right terminal and jumpered to the terminal next to the one used for neuteal, and, hot out to device from the terminal in the top middle left (second from left). Power is being controlled by a remote-controlled power switch. Remote on button is pushed, power is supplied and this unit cuts power after timer countdown elapses. Much more reliable than internet-controlled outlet switch.

AH3-3 Delayed ON Works!!!
Works as described. There are very few options for Delayed ON Relays... worth the money. Printed wiring diagram on the relay is a plus.

Easy set up, with caveats
The timer seems to work just fine and is well built, exactly what I needed for the project. However, the octal base has a problem in that the retention plates are smooth and not serrated. This allows the wire under the terminal screw to slip out. They should really make at least the lower plate or the upper plate out of a heavier metal and put a non slip pattern in it so when it is compressed it locks the wire into the compression area. Other than that it works great.

Avoiding roof Ice Down Town!
With a number of surging electric heats we delayed the load surges too allow double the heaters to start on one standard building timer line. Ya I'm here all night! LOL

Timer AND base equals a great value
These on delay timers have held up very well. And the price which includes base is an amazing value.
