Excellent measuring tool with a distinguishing feature.
If shortly – the Tire Pressure Gauge by AstroAI Digital is just a great tire pressure measuring tool. Some details are below. (Please note - TPG for a tire pressure gauge.) What do I expect from the “perfect” TPG? 1. Accuracy. 2. It should be convenient to use. 3. Reliable and durable. 4. Decent price. I’ve been using the TPG by AstroAI for more than 3 months and here is what I can say about it. 1. I don’t have handy the calibrated professional TPG to be able to state whether it IS accurate or it is not. But, this TPG displays values that coincide (less than +/- 0.5 psi) with two digital TPGs I own (one is the JACO SmartPro Digital Tire Inflator Pump’s built-in TPG and the second is my old TPG.) To my opinion, this is absolutely acceptable accuracy. Especially, if take into account the fact that a tire pressure may vary significantly depending on, for example, ambient temperature - at least 1 psi difference (for small and middle-sized tires) to each 10 degrees difference of ambient temperature. (E.g. you measure tire pressure in the morning or the afternoon.) 2. This TPG’s appearance is different from most of the others. (Instead of trying to describe what the difference is, I suggest that you check almost any TPG on Amazon and you’ll get what I am talking about.) But what is important, this TPG is convenient to hold in hand during measuring procedure and it perfectly fits valves of my car’s tires (no air leaks). Its display is excellent and the numbers are big and perfectly visible both on a sunny day and at night. This TPG uses two standard AAA batteries (non-rechargeable). I think that the only disadvantage of such a solution is that once in a year (maybe rarer) I will have to replace the batteries. Anyway, the alkaline batteries are usually safer than Li-ion rechargeable batteries. There is one feature that I want to specially mention. The standard behavior of the digital TPGs that I’ve used and read about is the following: after you checked the pressure in a tire, then TPG’s display keeps showing the current values for some time (usually around 30 sec.) and then, the TPG turns off. Checking the pressure in another tire within this time might be confusing. So I usually long-pressed my old TPG’s power button to turn it off and then turned it on again. So, smart folks from AstroAI asked themselves a simple question – how many tires we usually check during a single “session”. I bet that most of us usually measure pressure in all tires the car has. So, they implemented a simple, yet a brilliant option – when you finished checking the pressure in the first tire, then after about 10-15 sec this TPG resets the just measured values and gets ready to the next measuring. If you don’t want to check another tire, then in another 10-15 sec the display turns off completely, but if you want, then you have this time (10-15 sec) to continue. The second measuring will restart the TPG’s “timer” and it gets ready for the third one. So convenient! (Well, maybe this feature is not unique, but it is for me.) 3. Reliability – I’ve used it for maybe 30 times and no any kind of malfunction so far. I even checked the pressure 3 times in raw in one tire and got the very same values. As for this TPG’s durability, it’s difficult to say now, but it looks and feels pretty solid! So, if you don’t intentionally throw it or use it as a hammer, then I don’t see why it can’t last for years. ;) 4. Price - I think that it’s fair for such a quality device. Verdict: 5 stars – absolutely recommended! This is an excellent tire pressure measuring tool with a cool feature. Update (Sep 13, 2019): As the reviewer of this TPG, I’ve received the question this morning regarding the batteries and batteries discharge indicator. This prompted me to make short research… The result was slightly unpleasant – this TPG does NOT have any indicator of the discharged battery and the battery icon on the display is just a fake and does not change its behavior when the inserted batteries are seriously discharged. When the batteries are OK, then the gauge works just fine, but if you turn ON the gauge and it doesn't launch, then, most likely, the batteries are completely discharged. I considered decreasing the rating to 4 stars, but then I decided not to do that. The TPG still works just fine and this “incorrectness” may cost half a star, rather than the full one. ;)

Great Product
I would highly recommend this product. I’ve used one at work for over a year now. Very accurate, easy to use and best of all is that they use AAA batteries and not button watch batteries. Battery like is really good

My preferred gauge
Of the two styles of AstroAI Digital Tire Pressure gauges I bought this is the one I prefer. Both generally work but their readings are slightly different. This model under review reads slightly above, where the other model reads slightly below in pressure. I do not know why they read differently or which one is more accurate. It is odd they.are not exactly the same reading as they are from the same company. Both have good batteries. I prefer this model because it is more compact with a straight connection to the tire valve making it easier to apply and read while pressed into the valve, where the other model has an offset connection that is a little harder to properly make a connection with the valve and it is harder to read at this angle. Further, this model I prefer in this review has a brighter, wider light which helps in use.

Does the job but not perfectly
As far as I can tell, crosschecking with another mechanical pencil gauge and the TPMS on the vehicle, this air pressure gauge is accurate or at lease within an acceptable margin of error. Like other gauges, both mechanical and digital, it takes an accurate push to get it on the valve stem without a leak. If you happen to miss and hear the hiss then your reading may be a few tenths off readings without the hiss. The screen is easily readable, unless you tilt it at certain angles and then it can become completely unreadable. But it saves the pressure reading so you simply hold the device at the angle you need to read it. I tested it in bright daylight and it's very easy to read. Overall, for a fairly inexpensive digital pressure gauge (not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive.) it does it's job well. Durability remains to be seen but it feels stout and comfortable in my hand. The flashlight portion always activates whether you need it or not so I'm curious about battery life but at least they are common AAA batteries for replacement.
