Good for 4G and peripherals!
As other reviewers have mentioned, this board is not something you come across as often as something like a Raspberry Pi, mini PC, or Arduino/ESP32 microcontroller. It has components of all of these, but I think what it really comes down to are the peripherals and IO options. Yes, the power of the board is more than an ESP32, but given that it is less than a Raspberry Pi, which is already not a ton of compute, you are left with doing some pretty basic applications (or having fun optimizing for limited compute). I think the largest benefit of getting this kind of board is if you have a project that could work with an ESP32 but you just need some more peripherals, i.e. an onboard 4G module, SD card, audio jack, ethernet port, or USB connector. With these peripherals alone, even if the power matched an ESP32, you would open the doors to so many projects (complex data logging, etc.). For that reason, I would agree that this board may not fit in a typical lineup, but if you want just a bit more IO or perhaps just need a dev kit for this specific chip, this is a great option!

Good happy medium between an ESP microcontroller and a Raspberry Pi
This board is an oddity of sorts, it is larger and more capable than a basic ESP32 microcontroller, but also not designed to be a full blown micro computer such as a raspberry pi. I appreciate all the functionality that this type of board supports, especially the inclusion of a 4G board, it makes it especially useful for a solar-powered remote monitoring device, something that requires a lot more bandwidth than something like a LoRa device can provide. It comes with antenna masts for both the 4G card, but also a separate one for the Wifi, which is appreciated. Waveshare as always provides good documentation for the board, so its not too hard to be able to get right into developing your project. I'm happy with this board and it's capabilities, and think you get a really good value for all that is included.
