My Gold Standard for Precision and Speed
I’ve used my fair share of wire strippers over the years, but the KNIPEX Automatic Wire Stripper is in a league of its own. Here is why this tool is a permanent fixture in my kit: -Consistency: It handles the 10-24 AWG range effortlessly. The self-adjustment mechanism is remarkably accurate, providing a clean strip every time without nicking the inner conductors, which is critical for quality electrical work. -Ergonomics: The 7.25-inch frame fits perfectly in the hand. It’s lightweight enough for extended use but feels robust enough to survive a busy shop environment. -Efficiency: The "one-squeeze" operation significantly speeds up repetitive tasks. Whether I'm working on terminal blocks or general repairs, the time saved adds up quickly. -Integrated Cutter: Having a reliable wire cutter built into the handle is a small but vital detail that eliminates the need to switch tools constantly. If you’re tired of struggling with manual strippers or cheaper automatic versions that pull on the insulation, just get the Knipex. It’s a precision instrument that pays for itself in saved time and reduced frustration.

Difficult to improve over this design
**Knipex Automatic Wire Strippers, 10-24 Gauge Review** **Discovery and First Impressions:** I first heard about the Knipex Automatic Wire Strippers on Adam Savage's YouTube channel, Tested. I usually trust his recommendations, so I decided to give these a try. I have some experience with wire stripping, and I plan on doing a lot more, which is why I got them. **Performance:** These wire strippers are amazing when it comes to performance. They strip the ends of wires perfectly, which makes the process really satisfying. I've even found myself stripping spare wires just for fun. You can adjust how much wire you want to strip and how strong the tension is. Even with small wires, I've never had any issues with snapping them. The tool seems to adjust its tension really well, whether you set it high or low. There's also a cutter on top, though it's in a bit of an awkward spot, but it works fine. **Ergonomics:** The ergonomics of this tool are fantastic. It fits well in your hand with a full-handed pistol grip lever action that's comfortable to use. If you have a lot of wires to strip, this tool makes the job much more enjoyable. **Build and Material:** Now, this isn't a cheap tool. It's for people who plan to do a lot of wire stripping and want to save time. While it's a bit pricey for regular folks, it's worth it if you need to strip a lot of wires. However, it is a bit disappointing that the entire tool is made of plastic. Even though it's durable, I expected a bit more for the price. But knowing Knipex, their products are usually high quality and last a long time, so it's only a minor "annoyance" and I didn't dock any stars for it. **Overall Thoughts:** These wire strippers are a joy to use, which is surprising to say about such a tool like this. They're high-performing, likely to last, but come with a higher price tag. If you need to strip a lot of wires, these are worth considering. But if you're not sure if you need them, you probably don't.

Nice one Knipex.
This stripper works great straight out of the packet. Light and easy to set up and use. I was skeptical that an 'automatic' wire stripper would be accurate and clean cutting, over a range of AWG gauge wire, and not over or under cut insulation and slip on stripping it but not these. Great build quality. Finished wiring up three control boxes so far and it was a doddle. As good on the last as it was on the first and already paid for themselves in time, results and workflow. My new 'go-to' in the tool bag. Nice one Knipex.

Whats the low temperature rating 😆
So,I've been using the knipex auto wire strippers for years now, but when I went from contractor to maintenance they supplied my tools and my original pair is still going strong after 7 years of terminating everything from 36 triad PAFA and FTB panels to power distribution, outlets, car stereos... hands down the best 👌 so nice to get into tight spots and not worry about racking knuckles, or touch the Bus or knocking loose something live, slipping that one wire in the middle of an existing terminated strip without having to reform and cut zip ties. Not to mention outlets and GUAs were it was maybe ran a lil on the short side.. literally, almost everything!...I've only come across a few brands of cheaper wire that they didn't care for the specific plasticity on that insulation. However, this pair is less than a year old and I believe it was the 10-15°F temp that caused mine to break stripping some newer 14 gauge stranded. I would like to see knipex enhance the polymer around the jaws or maybe they need a little more metal reinforcement. Otherwise, perfect time saving, money making, quality enhancing product. Never, leaves a mark on my copper solid, stranded, or fine strand. Just make sure you adjust your jaws to the gauge and try a small bit on the depth first.

For me it is worth the price
Smooth operation, and this is made in Germany. I have a few wire strippers and this one I usually for smaller wires. It doesn't "cut" into the wires and do the job clean. It is expensive, and I am sure there are similar ones. But at the time, i am willing to pay for this tool. If I have a chance to try other ones, I'll try the Engineer PAW-31, PAW-43, PAW-44, and PAW-45 because some have interchangeable blade options. I am cutting signal wires and this works for me.

I can accurately cut and strip 24 awg solid core wires for my breadboards now.

Muy bien el trabajo que realiza, con cualquier diámetro lo hace bien, quizás la única pega es que se ve endeble, plastico por todos lados. Habrá que ver que resultado da a largo plazo.
